foreverblue
So Hans has broken finger rather than a broken hand and a head injury. Also said in the Echo that Matt didn't sign anyone in time. So it is just whether we need to sign someone in place of Hans. We can use guests but that isn't ideal and although he said we have missed the boat as regards the deadline i'm sure we can sign an injury replacement if needed. Shockster
CONCERNED Pirates chief Matt Ford fears Hans Andersen's season may be over. The Danish star withdrew from last night's meeting at Leicester – in which Poole suffered a 52-38 defeat – following a collision with Pirates guest Max Fricke. Andersen was kept in hospital in Leicester overnight before returning to Denmark this morning and Ford reported that the former Grand Prix charger had sustained a broken finger and a head injury. Ford confirmed it was too late for Pirates to make permanent team changes, with Krzysztof Kasprzak enlisted to guest for Thursday's home fixture against Belle Vue. The promoter told the Daily Echo: "I only know Hans has a broken finger on his left hand. We are waiting for a proper diagnosis because he also hit his head quite badly. "The loss of Hans, which we believe will probably be his season end, is a major loss. "There's never a good time for these things but of course when we can't bring anyone else in at this point, it does make life very difficult." Ford is hopeful Chris Holder will be fit for the clash with Belle Vue after the Aussie ace pulled out of yesterday's trip to Leicester due to toothache and a migraine. Earlier in the day, the Sydneysider had bagged a 10 paid 11 haul in the 49-41 loss to the Aces at the National Speedway Stadium. Ford added: "I'm hoping Chris will be fit to return but we will have to take that as it comes over the next day or two. "I'm hoping he has managed to arrange something to get the problem solved." SteveLyric2
So if Hans is out for the season - not yet confirmed incidentally as he flew back to Denmark this morning for further tests after a night in hospital in Leicester - then the rest of Poole's League meetings should be covered by guests. There is a 7-day window before the play-offs to sign a permanent replacement for the play-offs if required.

So we could get Pawlicki or Madsen in for the play offs, sounds a better option than a fully fit Hans!

foreverblue
Madsen at Wolves?? You have to be joking! He is a much better rider now than when he last rode here i am sure he would be fine but probably one of the Pawlicki's would be better. marko
Poole for me regardless of individuals form are still the strongest team in the league imo but if there was an option for replacing a slightly off form rider for another asset that has been riding well elswhere you would be daft not to take advantage of that, I would have expected them to win at Leicester even with the injuries so its understandable Matt might want to take a step back and look at the situation. hagonshocker
Would be amazed if Piotr came over what with the gp's and going for an outside shot bronze or even to stay in top
Shale Searcher
Broken finger wouldn't keep him out, but head injury? Did he knock himself out? Because that's a mandatory rest.. I was on that corner, and when I arrived he was trying to sit up.. The impact had knocked off one of the air-vent covers off his helmet, so he defo took a blow to the head..... stevebrum
Would be amazed if Piotr came over what with the gp's and going for an outside shot bronze or even to stay in top 8 Piotr might be back at Wolves yet if Masters is still injured! You can have the less talented brother.

Gavan
It seems Hans may ride in the GP challenge on Saturday! so then he is fit enough to ride for Poole..................if he rides saturday i bet somehow he aggravates it!!
sparkafag
so then he is fit enough to ride for Poole..................if he rides saturday i bet somehow he aggravates it!! It isn't even yet known if he is fit enough to race in the challenge FFS. He has broken a finger on the hand used to function the clutch evidently racing in the challenge if he decides to do so will be a risk and there is a change he might aggravate it. You almost make Poole likeable the way you inanely ramble on about them.

Tsunami
Lindback to come in? He doesn't fit surely? Don't think Lindback for Holder makes much difference.. I would always expect Holder to step up come the playoffs. He shouldn't as the rider needs to be an asset.
sparkafag
depends which finger when I have seen riders at the tapes they only use two usually Hmmm not really though.... irrespective of the finger he has broken it is still on the hand used to control the clutch..... Most people would have issues gripping a pen with a broken finger let alone racing around on a Speedway Bike, and that’s before even knowing how bad the break is given the varying definitions of “broken”. Ths is BSF don't forget. I'm sure soon we'll have no end of "experts" to tell us how bad the break is....... Then they'll tell us how to ride a speedway bike, run a club, run a league and top it off with conspiracy theories. the G***N will come on and insult everyone.
foreverblue
He shouldn't as the rider needs to be an asset. Lindback doesn't fit for Hans or Holder and Holder can't be replaced unless he is injured, don't know why he needs to be a asset although Lindback is an asset but i have a feeling Hans will be back anyway which could be ok if he gets his broken finger out! Aces51
He can always do what Peter Collins did and move the clutch lever to the other side of the handlebars and operate it with the throttle.
