hagonshocker
The meeting started well for Swindon and was ok up till about heat 10 after which our weaknesses were shown up. I hope Rosco made some changes at the weekend as we have a couple of riders that need changing. Justin was as bad again, despite stating he had sorted out his equipment and Nick and Josh did not do themselves any favours. Our two reserves were well beaten, if we continue like that we will not get to the play offs and will get well beaten in them if we do. What did make me laugh was Jasons comments when interviewed being asked about Roscos team talk, Oh we do not take any notice of what he says, said Jason. We live in more hope than expectation regarding a change or two, JG's brilliant home form keeps him just above criticism

No changes & if Lakeside win at Kings Lynn this week we will be up against it to be play off fodder this season like the last 2.
Midland Red
The question was in reply to Chris living in Cornwall. At least Coventry is closer than a completely different part of the country. No it wasn't - you are now contradicting post #
woofers
Good idea from Kevin Tatum - "if you move at the start, you go back 15 metres". The rule is quite clear, riders have to remain stationary. A simple change to implement, and it would quickly put an end to rolling and anticipating the tapes rising. It would also do away with this 'referees discretion' whether to call a race back or let it go, as I believe he does not actually have the option to do this within the rules. stevebrum
No it wasn't - you are now contradicting post #80 What on earth are you babbling on about? The reply was about Chris living in Cornwall because he doesn't. So I said Coventry instead of Rugby. Big deal. No contradiction. However one of us is making way more of a big deal about it. ytsejam
Flint (the ref) made a rod for his own back from heat 1 of the KL match. Failed to enforce start line discipline on all 3 teams and as a consequence as the night wore on riders realised this and chanced their arm more and more. Exactly what I said in here immediately after heat 1 of the Lynn match. It was OBVIOUS to anyone with at least half a brain cell that if the useless ref let Iversen get away with a blatant roller in the first race then several others were going to try their luck the rest of the evening!. The worst thing is that on the occasions that he put out the red flags for a roller, the re-run was just as bad but he then let that go!! Arguably the most pathetic refereeing performance I've seen for a LONG time. Don't know who was the most pathetic though, the cretinous ref or the abysmal, embarrassing Lynn side!!
jenga
good to see the rule for tape offences still the same in the E.L. ie. going off 15 mtrs , but going with the out side gate (4) in the pl fours , riders were made to go off their initial gate , but 15 mtrs back . at workington on sunday , claus v tobroke the tapes and was put back 15 mtrs . but from the gate where he committed the offence . GATE 2 . start marshall didnt know where to go to be safe . so el and pl rules are different . but this rule is as dangerous as feck .. needs sorted A.S.A.P. foreverblue
Just caught up with that and apart from the races from Belle Vue it was awful. I've said this before but there were more falls due to the track last night than there have been all season at Belle Vue although if you include all The Colts meetings as well it might be close. The racing they showed from Belle Vue was good, it never comes across on TV as good it does live though, heat 15 looked good on TV but live it was incredible. I'm surprised they didn't show heat 7 from Belle Vue either but then again it would have just shown the two wolves meetings up even more. There were a couple of brilliant moves, sadly Iversens turn back and Doyle's move out wide both happened on the first and second turn so don't count according to some wolves fan which really doesn't leave much else does it? The bad news is one leg of the cup final will be from there but you never know it might be as good as this https://youtube.com/watch?v=RTSgYofMZ6U I have been to Wolves many times and i have to say it is one of the best racing tracks in the country. double headers always seem to be disappointing racing wise as they tend to be a lot slicker than usual especially in the second meeting. I hope it will be back to normal for the play offs and we get some great racing.
foreverblue
Funnily enough I went to a double header there last season and the track was fine? Apart from a dodgy pole there were hardly any falls and some decent races in both meetings, last night was a bit of a joke wasn't it? Who was the dodgy pole? Never been to a decent double header there usually to be avoided. The racing was poor last night but i am going next monday so i will review then although not expecting a close meeting!! EnglishRoundabout
We live in more hope than expectation regarding a change or two, JG's brilliant home form keeps him just above criticism Lets face it, Swindon were never going to challenge Wolves at home. Similarly the same will occur at Lakeside. Let's not forget, this side is the most inconsistent Swindon side for many years. The Robins are always likely to grab a point or two at Coventry, Kings Lynn and possibly BelleVue, as most of them prefer bigger tracks. Sedge, Morris and Josh looked out of their depth on a tricky track at Monmore last night and we all know the same will happen at Lakeside. Tungate has been a revelation in the last few matches, but North should have been replaced with a like for like in the first place.

Have to dig out the MCS speedway when you're next over. Being hit by some of the modern board games could really hurt. Lifeboats is pretty chunky. theblueboy
A gorgeous day in the Black Country. Took in some 'football' at Bilston in the afternoon - truly awful, and they charged me £5 for the privilege. Lovely metal cage in resplendent orange and the pitch looked like it had been prepared by the Poole track man as there was a nice hole in it. The Bilston manager was excellent. I don't think he used one word from the OED in the whole 90 mins. On to the speedway and good to see a decent crowd, KL were truly abysmal. PUK looked the usual million dollars in heat one and showed great track craft to cut back in heat 15, but apart from that there was not a lot else to appease the neutral. Troy looks completely out of love with the game and I am not sure where he goes next. Swindon were better and there were some reasonable Robins moments, particularly Doyle, who was imperious, Tungate who is rapidly moving in to my good books with Sedgy moving smartly the other way. However, Wolves were strong all the way through and never looked like losing despite Swindon keeping it tight to heat 10. Highlight for me was Freddie's comedy effort in heat one as he had 2 attempts to bin in it overtaking the Sedgy before coming to grief at the third attempt. Harris excellent and Clegg really impressed. Wolves fully deserved their wins and have a team more than capable of challenging the top two. Poole in particular will be extremely vulnerable with their current line up. Final word on the ref, absolute garbage. Let everything go at the tapes and decides to start issuing warnings in heat 29 of 30 - idiot. Haven't seen any footage re Tungate in 15 but looked extremely harsh. Ignoring your usual trolling attempts for a reaction, which sadly for you, everyone is ignoring now on every thread you make them.. i.e. you need new material. However, the racing in the Swindon meeting was decent.. despite you claiming it 'doesn't leave much else'.. Heat 2, Howarth and Wright passed and repassed before Wright ran into the back off Howarth on the final lap. Heat 3 Harris gates last, passes both Swindon riders into turn 3 Heat 5 Karlsson passed Clegg turn 3 lap 1, Sedgman briefly repassed Clegg who went back around him. Heat 7 Tungate gates, harris chases him and passes lap two Heat 8 Another good scrap between Howarth and Wright Heat 9 Tungate gates, Clegg moves by him. Tungate passes lap 3 Heat 11 Excellent team riding from Lindgren with Josh G all over the back of him and PK Heat 12 Wolves on a 5-1 till Wright passes Howarth on lap 4 So yeah.. doesn't leave much else. Not a classic meeting, but most certainly not a bad one. The first one was not so good but still passing in Heats 3,4,5 (passing and repassing in that one), 6, 7, 11, 13,14 and 15 9 out of 15 races with passing for a meeting described as awful by some.
BWitcher
Lol! Passing riders who are struggling to stay on is great isn't it? Almost every 'pass' you've described happened while another rider was wobbling or tentatively just getting round. Even world class riders were all over the place it was complete bilge compared to the heats from Belle Vue, even the ones they didn't show were better than any of the 30 races on Monday. This thread is Wolves v Swindon. If you wish to discuss Belle Vue v Poole, there is a thread for it. You've made stuff up again, been found out and now you'll likely try and spend the next twenty pages talking inane drivel in an attempt to dig your way out of the latest hole you've made for yourself. Go ahead, I have nothing further to add, there was plenty of passing, much of it nothing to do with 'wobbling'.
