Rye House V Berwick... Koc Qf 2nd Leg... 29/8/2016... 3pm

Well thank god that's all over. Let's hope the right things happen and the Bandits come back as a force next year. Hav'nt been to many meetings this year but sad to say that's out of choice not circumstance also need to say won't be back next year if things don't change.

Looking at other parts of social media it seems quite a few wont be bothering with the last couple of meetings.

You could tell by the way Rye House celebrated their heat 15 5-1 at Shielfield, that heat could come back to haunt us. Unfortunately, you reap what you sow, a 7+ point average replaced by a rider struggling to average even 3 per meeting (heat 5 was surely a plot from Tales of the Unexpected, there's a modern reference) and we've been told all year that you don't need an out and out number one. Well today you got a prime example of what a number one can give you.

It just shows you the draw we got down there in the league was helped a lot by a couple of useful guests.

I can understand why some fans will not bother with the last couple of meetings. The season is gone. I'll still be at both meetings, but there isn't a lot of incentive to go. No doubt we will be told tales of hard luck and lots of effort. I don't doubt the effort, but we are outclassed time after time.

Silver lining, it avoids the home and away humping I reckon we would have got off Newcastle. Don't think I could handle that.

Not much to argue with there

Well that's another short season at Berwick, still on a plus side it will save us freezing our bits off in October.

Lets hope the promotion now get on with it sort out what they want to do and do it otherwise I'm afraid our club will be down the tube and that would be a great way to mark 50 years.

The best way to support your team into 50 years is support them, win or lose.. They all dont have sugar daddy backers who plough cash in for massive team changes etc

I will be there on Monday night just very disappointed with Sebs replacement after being promised they didnt want to sign just any rider they were waiting on the right rider

Great come back from the Rockets,,started with a 5-1 from Robson and Morley in heat 11,,, followed by an impressive ride from Branford a 4-2 with Heeps. and with two rides to come from the invincible Kennet things were looking good for the aggregate victory,,,the score 54 -36 gave us a 2 point overall entry to the next round against Newcastle ,,An exciting meeting and Rockets looked solid tonight,,,,Just a shame about the boringly long time between the two meetings 1hr and a quarter..i feel the junior kids should have gone out before the first meeting,,The crowd started drifting away during the Raiders meeting in large numbers,,,its a shame but 5hrs and twenty minutes is just way to long for a double header...Lessons need to be learned for the sake of the fans......

Nothing as yet from Shadders.... Has he been threatened with "divorce" if he is caught gloating 😀

Nope, everything fine and dandy here. I don't do gloating

Set the tone right from the first heat 5-1. Rob Branford really coming good looking unbeatable in the NL and a quality reserve at Pl level

Everyone chipped in but i'm sure Kennett felt he had a point to prove after the stick he got re the Plymouth fixture.

Who knows a couple of decent performances against Scunthorpe we might even avoid finishing bottom.I'm sure the owners will see a NL 4TT win, a Cup Semi and finishing 11th as a great season

A word about Kevin Doolan, I have loved watching him over his long career, always puts in the effort and a very sporting bloke both during and after the meeting, great with fans and especially the kids, a credit to Berwick

I thought the running of the first meeting by the Ref was pretty good trying his best to keep it moving but the three kids races starting just when the NL fixture should have started? is there no common sense from the Promotion. Midway through the NL meeting i had had enough with many having left before me. These five hour plus double headers are a joke and fans wonder why speedway gets a bad name from local residents.

Totally agreed WHB. A credit to himself, his family, clubs, country and the sport.

Kev even stopped and had a long chat with me on his way to the office, with a beer in hand. Top bloke.

I don't know of anyone who has a bad word to say about him. Always has a smile on his face and will stand and chat to anyone. We need more like him
