Drugs In Uk Speedway?

Recommended Posts

For those that may not have read the article by Peter Oakes in this week's Speedway Star, the 'Speedway Control Bureau are ready to step up their testing between now and the end of this season'.

This follows 'several anonymous calls to UKAD (UK Anti-Doping) naming at least 3 riders who are suspected of doping'.

UKAD immediately contacted SCB Prime Officer Graham Reeve who has already prepared a timetable of testing.

'It is understood that some tests would already have been carried out had the weather not intervened'!!!

Designer drug ecstasy and maijiuana. Drugs of choice for delinquent speedway riders (apparently).

But usually out of season. Allegedly.

Drugged up riders punching each others light out,is what the sport lacks nowadays.Or a battle between the druggies and the drunkards

Last year Sweden won the SWC and the following tuesday Hancock lost his plot with NickiP. It was all over Swedish press. I mean everywhere. With a bit of planning it could easily have been transferred to a story that "controversy in sport where Sweden is currently world #1".

And by easily I mean by a pro media people.

Brilliant. Know of people on drugs, announce it so those riders can quit, be replaced or just stop taking drugs before testing so they don't get caught. Brilliant.

Yet again speedway sweeps it's mess under the carpet rather than clean it up
