Do Speedway Promoters Ever Come On Here?

Recommended Posts

Yep...I just made it up mate...rolls eyes... I couldn't give a toss what people on this forum think tbh, whether you believe it or not makes no difference in the bigger picture.

Just putting it out there....what I think has no relevance. My opinion is worthless, its just words... however, businessmen, sponsors and promotors are. The fact I agree with them has no relevance.

There is no point trying to impose opinion on people on a forum...especially if you don't respect many of them. If that's what turns you on, you should get out more fella

I'm interested in Speedway.... not what a freaky speedway forum member thinks.

See as I said, a load of BS just like your "Ignore list"…

The fundamental difference between rugby union and speedway is that even in the shamateur days, the top clubs were always connected with money. Everyone knew that even if money wasn't actually being stuffed in players' boots, players were attracted to clubs on the back of jobs arranged for them by wealthy backers.

It wasn't much of a jump from a so-called amateur sport to a professional one in reality, and as far as I recall, there had long been established leagues in Wales and Scotland. Even England had de-facto leagues thinly disguised as so-called merit tables.

Fair enough, rugby union draws some crowds that speedway would envy, but it always did at Five Nations level and in some regions. And I'd argue it's still largely regionally based popularity - I'm not sure that club rugby even at the highest level holds a lot of interest for the average sports follower.

In other words...move along please...nothing to see here. :nono:

The 'ignore list' gives you an option to 'look' if you want...it gives me total control over whether I want to read members posts.

You're on it, because I class you as one of those idiots.

Proven again by the fact you don't understand Irony, as my 'rolls the eyes' comment indicates...too subtle for you obviously. Again 'rolls eyes'.

Keep on talking about forum members Mr Troll...you are exactly the type of person said Promotors and sponsors were referring too...more interested in making arguments and 'points scoring' on an insignificant forum, than actually caring about the topic or speedway.

Keep enjoying the burgers ;-)

Ah, the “promoters” - the same people that told you about “the burgers” and the “smelling of p*ss” stories….odd, odd man.

I care about speedway which is why I don't fabricate conversations with "promoters" that in fact don't show one iota of "care" towards the sport....

Your behaviour on here is utterly desperate, sad to watch someone unravel the way you do on here. You really need to stop making up conversations with promotions/sponsors etc it is absolutely tragic.

You live in a world of fairy-tale and fantasy - stick to making up internet story's "I spoke with"...yeah you didn't, instead you are just portraying yourself as a total weirdo.... :t:

Keep repeating it fatty...people will start believing you...funny as...fish fish...bite, bite :-p

No, most people with half a brain realised you were an idiot weeks ago, that you are an unaware of that only further serves to show what a mentalist you are, as does the fact you think calling people "fat", irrespective of whether they are not is some sort of win for you, more so someone you don't actually know.

Yeah, we all believe promoters are going to give their confidential thoughts to someone who is going to blurt them all over an Internet forum.

As for one millionaire not putting money into Speedwáy, the other side of the coin is that there are plenty of people worth a few bob that do, in both EL and PL. The sport couldn't survive without them.

As for promoters squabbling with each other, most people on here have known that for years. The winter of 2010/11 was a case in point.

Southampton did have a team many years ago.

i think it was Southampton track staff that worked at IOW when the first reopened in the 00's. A track staff bus was laid on to get them to and from the track and then back to mainland.

Given the remarkable level of debate shown in this thread and too many others I'd be amazed if anyone in a position of authority in the sport bothers with it now.

I only stay with it for the useful information that's buried beneath the idiocy and sheer nastiness, but it's becoming an ever more tedious job to sift through the bull for the nuggets. Apart from that I'm concerned I'm developing a morbid sense of curiosity.

Despite the insanity of the EL I've really enjoyed the racing next year and while the sport's got severe problems IO don't recognise that sport in this forum.

It's like they've taken all of the nutters from each track and locked them in a pub so they can kill any decent conversations. I've made some harsh postings but they're sincere and from the heart, intended to make people think. Sadly that kind of thing doesn't really have a place here now.

If you were a promoter would you want to waste time sorting through it all to find what might be useful feedback? You'd be better off talking to your fans in the bar.

A little harsh, Rob, but its difficult to say you haven't got a very valid point indeed (ably assisted by those who turned this thread into a shambles that would delight any promoter determined to disregard its contents).

Perhaps it is, after all, a case that there is far too much chaff and far too little wheat :(

That's a shame. Rugby Union is a sport that within my adult lifetime has been transformed from an amateur (and amateurish) game played by mainly ex-public and ex-grammar school men, in a disorganised and unstructured season of meaningless friendly matches between teams where they would have to chip in with their playing "subs" to be entitled to a shirt out of the kit bag. Nowadays, it's the definate #2 sport in the country, followed by millions, between professional teams, that draw crowds that many a football team would envy, in well structured national and international leagues. In the case of Wasps, they have even bought the Ricoh Arena, and have Coventry City as their tenants. Not only that but it's the sport in which England (or any British national team) was the last winner of a major World Cup.

That is a transformation in fortunes that speedway would do well to try to emulate.

The quick answer to that is I watch Rugby League.

I watch both forms of Rugby and enjoy them but the most enjoyable is, of course, Wales defeating England in Rugby Union Internationals! :) Now back to the subject of this thread, I personally agree with the gist of RMC's last post

Totally agree that the idiots and the abuse merchants who seem to think the forum is their personal play school are a PITA. Sadly tho if all the sensible people turn their backs on the forum it will mean the idiots have won. Being a stubborn old bird I refuse to be a part of that happening so I shall continue to post sensible (well reasonably) things with a modicum of humour and just hope that enough sensible people have the testicular fortitude or common sense to do the same.

As for promoters.......it's their money so they have the final say, don't mean I have to agree with them tho and until I win the lottery that's how it will stay :P
