tarkens
Because even though speedwy in Britain is struggling at this time, we are still one of the major nations. One rider out of 16 is not enough. What would be the point loading the GP with 5-6 or more Poles, who are all good but rarely outstanding on the world stage? There has to be a variety of nations and Britain deserves more than one berth IMO. Remember 1996? You had 6 GP riders and all of them were either average or bad, Poland had only Gollob back then who was a wildcard and rode in 3 or 4 meetings. Just accept the fact that times have changed, there's only one British rider at the moment who's good enough to compete in the GP series, anyone more than him is (Harris) or would be a joke (Lambert). Poland have 3 riders who do well/reasonably well in GP (Zmarzlik, Pawlicki, Janowski) at the moment and few more waiting for their chance (Dudek) or big come back (KK, Hampel). I'm not saying we deserve 6 riders in GP, I like variety as well, but I prefer quality over variety. Thank god there's a chance we'll have both - Dudek, Milik and Vaculik to finish top3 in Vetlanda As for wildcards for 2017, it's still pretty early but at the moment it looks pretty straightforward - Nicki, Zagar, Iversen and, unfortunately, Lindgren. JCookie
No - stop with the guff like Zagar/Iversen/Jonsson and even Lindgren. They were never that good anyway (other than the odd freak season) and they never will be. Nicki at least has the excuse of being a 3x WC. tarkens
Oh believe me, I agree 100% with you, but we know BSI, the wildcards will go to Nicki (3x WC), Zagar (7th, 5th and 6th last 3 years), Iversen (3rd in 2013, injured in 2014, 4th in 2015) and one of the Swedes, just because BSI is kind of like Steve Shovlar and they believe that some nations 'deserve' more than just one GP rider. They won't give it to Jonsson cause he's been ridiculousy terrible this year and basically very poor since 2012, so it will be Lindgren. Ghostwalker
It depends on the gp challenge and which riders that qualify or does not qualify.
waiheke1
Agreed. But on for I would find it hard to argue with wildcards going to pedersen puk Lindgren and zagar if the top 8 finishes as it is now. If emil is interested, then I would say zagar misses out. Would love to see dudek fricke and lambert qualify, but more likely to be dudek kk and pawlicki. Of course if pawlicki makes top 8 then 4th spot gets a place, which could well be someone like Lindgren. Outside those mentioned above, I'd suggest only Vaculik would bring anything to the GP series so I really hope it is 3 from the above 7, in which case it should be another good series next year. tarkens
Emil should fight for his GP spot like the others do. I'd love to see him back in the series, but he should at least give it a go in qualifications. I know he was injured this year, but was he even considering competing in GP qualifiers this year? And what about Milik? I know that Fricke is more appealing to some just because he's an Aussie, but look at Milik's stats, 12th overall in Ekstraliga, ahead of Emil, Nicki, PUK and Lindbaeck, and way ahead of Fricke. I know he doesn't ride in British or Swedish league, but he does ride in SEC where he currently is 2nd, just 2pts behind Antonio. Like mentioned earlier, I hope it's Dudek, Vaculik and Milik from Challenge (unless Pawlicki loses his place in top 8, but I doubt it), not a big fan of KK and he already had his big season, no way he can ever repeat that
waiheke1
Milik is only at 2nd reserve for the challenge? Would be happy enough to see him in the GP series as he is certainly entertaining. Not sure kk can be written off as a one season wonder, he is arguably in the top 10 riders in the world this season.
Pinny
Why on earth wouldnt Puk get a wild card? Been one of the best riders in the world for the last 3 or 4 years, had a rough season this but fully expect him to bounce back in 2017. Pedersen is questionable, nearly 40 and is on the downward spiral now, cant see him ever being on the final standings rostrum again. As much as im a fan, i think he would be better off bowing out of the gps at the end of the season.
foamfence
We can't change the rules but I'd really prefer it if all GP riders were qualifiers. As things stand, there's more chance of it becoming a sponsors circus, much like that ridiculous pairs competition (will the odious Monster Joe become God of Speedway soon)? spanner47
Can't see young Robert making it. Isn't Vetlanda a gaters paradise and generally reckoned to be the worst track in Sweden? Edited August 30, 2016 by spanner47

Ghostwalker
Can't see young Robert making it. Isn't Vetlanda a gaters paradise and generally reckoned to be the worst track in Sweden? Haven't seen much of it this year tbh but it have previously been almost entirely about gating. Track was remade before 2015 season but I don't think it has changed much. The problem with the track is that it have lots of loose but heavy dirt.
sommelier
He doesn't seem to have progressed much this year, hopefully it's just a blip. The lad is just 18 IMO he is coming on in leaps & bounds & will be there giving him my support on Saturday. But even if he does qualify, he is nowhere near ready for the GPs yet
Reviresco
Covatti to pull off a shock and qualify direct.... Looks a cracking line up and it would be so good to watch this "live" on TV.
