Gavan
After today i wonder if in Gavans little weird world we are still favorites to win the league ?? no your probably not now but you have been all season check it out it's called bookmakers plenty of them about. But then again you get totally mocked on the horse racing thread as well! Poole have choked hugely this season. Holder been up and down and rumours he is leaving (that's what gp stars do). Ellis is ok at home but weak away in the number 2 berth. Buck is in a poor run of form. Kurtz again weak away. Hans inconsistent as always. Bjarne is steady and Newman has been poor and seen Ellis go past him and is what he is a journeyman elite league reserve. So the best 7 in the league are throwing it away. Maybe there is a problem with Middlo and Ford struggling to motivate them

Steve Shovlar
Well just got back. 540 miles in a day with some good and some dreadful racing. The two tracks are relatively new, Belle Vue got it spot on. Leicester got it seriously wrong. This lunchtime meeting at Belle Vue was the perfect advert for the sport. A big crowd, perfect weather and some brilliant racing. The meeting had all a speedway fan would want, well nearly everything except if you are a Poole fan. Belle Vue with their home track knowledge got themselves into an eight point lead but Poole started to get their setups right and in the second half of the meeting were the better team imo, but just kept losing heat advantages. We deserved a point but it was not to be. Anyone who was there must have left thinking this is one of the best sports in the world. The two Newman wins were spectacular as was Holders last three rides. Our problem arose with Holder withdrawing from tonights meeting at Leicester. One rule Matt Ford usually sticks to is not to use riders from clubs that are your closest rivals in the league. However on this occassion he was left with no choice. Unfortunately Fricke was worse than useless, and on top of that lifted, then piled into Hans Andersen who was hurt bad enough to have to withdraw from the meeting. With no Holder and Andersen we were stuffed in a meeting which was chalk and cheese to the meeting served up earlier. There was one pass in this meeting after the second bend, when Buckowski made a wall of death ride around bends three and four to move into second, only to fall on the next bend because he couldn't get back on line. It was a meeting of the worst kind possible. Where Belle Vues meeting had passing in virtually every heat, in this meeting you could fill your program in going down the back straight of lap one, so dire was the non existent 'racing'. Poole riders lifted out of the gate, Leicesters didn't and it was all over by the second bend. Bjarne had a field day as he gated and just sat there, mid track, picking up the points. There was no way anyone would pass. The whole Leicester setup is diabolical. Where Belle Vue have got it right, Leicester have got it wrong. They wonder why Sky don't show racing from here? Because its crap. Simple as that. I don't care that we lost at Leicester, the result is almost meaningless as we needed to win at Belle Vue. Failing to do that meant that whatever the result at Leicester or any other meeting in the regular season, it means we probably can't finish top. I hope Leicester find a buyer and take them down out of the Elite League to the PL. A track like this should not be gracing top flight speedway. Harsh but true. And I hope they can be replaced by a club with a decent race track. I feel I have been mugged paying to watch that garbage after the great meeting on a proper race track earlier on. As for Agent Fricke, if people didn't realise it was meant tongue in cheek then they really are that stupid. Gemini
Well done to Leicester - how they manage to win with that team is beyond me but fair play to them Looking at the two teams on paper heaven knows ~ I'll have to take my 40 year old Lions scarf again. Still not discovered Robert72 but did have a nice chat with Steve Shovlar, Shale Shifter and Pirate Nick. It must have been a disappointing day for them with the team's defeat at Belle Vue as well but I still think Poole will be champions. We'll see. They showed highlights of the BV meeting tonight before the Wolves Swindon meeting, have to agree it was very good, and Kyle was superb. Best ive seen him ride for a while.. flagrag
It will be interesting to see what team changes Poole make for the play offs as i heard Hans Andersons hand looked a bit of a mess which could be a broken hand so his season could be over. Pinny
poole arent favorites for the title and havent been for at least a month. After a good start they have completely cracked up. They may well go and make changes and win it, but wont with this team
Gavan
Love Shovlars match report. Because Belle Vue is a good track he was happy to lose there!!! Poole lost at Leicester because Poole riders lifted out of the gate lol. As good as Newman was at Belle Vue he was as poor at Leicester but no mention of that. Ellis struggles at 2 away from home although he has had a good season. Talks about losing Andersen as though that made a difference.... It did as Poole got 8 from 9 from his rides so it helped them last night. He states Pedersen made gates and rode mid track. Well why didn't he pass his set up on to the others, you know the Poole riders who kept lifting!! Or do the Poole boys not chat??. Totally biased match report blaming the track rather than the team. Plenty of teams have win at Leicester this season.

Going EL was possibly the biggest mistake Leicester have made but they weren't to know that at the time. Good to hear you were happy to lose at BV so the day wasn't a total waste of time for you. Steve Shovlar
I see that bloke Gavan has been in full trolling mode again with our two defeats yesterday. Having the moron on block doesn't work when he is requoted by others. Must say though he has made an absolute cock of himself, yet again. Can't the mods act and ban this troll for good? He brings nothing to Poole threads but anger and bile, and as proof of his trolling doesn't even post on his own club threads. I feel sorry for the Ipswich club who this person pretends to support. Clearly he has no affinity with them whatsoever. Best wishes to Hans on his recovery. He was completely speared by Fricke and had no chance of avoidance. It must be hard to accept he won't be in the GP Challenge this weekend and his season could be over. Hopefully it isn't as bad as first diagnosed. It was one of those days when, as a Poole fan, we witnessed all that was good about the sport and all that was bad about the sport in a few hours. I used to moan about the Lakeside track years ago. I Hated it. A tricky little track with riders going backwards into corners. But compared to Leicester it is on another planet with plenty of passing and racing lines. The Leicester track has been discussed many times on here. Best thing to do is bulldoze it off the face of the speedway planet. It has no redeeming features. Then put in a new track which has more than one racing line. If that cannot be afforded, well stick them in the NL so it can be used as a practice track for youngsters. This track has no place in the EL. Sorry if this offends Leicester fans. Its all going to go pop in a few weeks max anyway. In comparison we were all treated to a speedway extravaganza earlier on with what you can do with a piece of land if you do it right. A big crowd, and a real race track. Comparing the Belle Vue track to the Leicester track is like comparing a bottle of Armand De Brignac Ace Of Spades Brut Gold Champagne to an opened flat bottle of Diamond White. It is unfathomable just how wrong the Leicester owner got the track shape so wrong. Feel so sorry for genuine Leicester fans who are served up this dirge every week.

Oh and no Ipswich werent riding so im allowed to comment on the teams that were and im also allowed an opinion on what is wrong with Poole. Is it ok for Poole fans to say certain riders are not performing but if you support another club you cant?? Get over yourself man. Oh and ive called you a troll nothing more. You have called me a moron and a cock so lets hope the report ive just sent to the mods gets you a nice holiday from the forum.
