SteveLyric2
This meeting is being promoted by Poole as a 'Celebration of Speedway' which will become an annual event. Admission has been reduced to £10 for 1 Adult and 1 child (under 16). Gates open half hour earlier at 6pm. Air horns or Vuvuzelas are being given free to the first 200 kids. There will also be a live Band. Local dignatories are being invited - not least Poole Councillors - who may not have ever witnessed speedway before. This is all part of the 'campaign' to show how important the stadium is in its current location. As for the teams, no news yet but for Leicester Ludvig Lindgren hurt his back yesterday for Newcastle so may be a doubt?! It'll be nice to have a really big crowd and atmosphere rather than just the usual large attendance and atmosphere - Hopefully it'll get everyone in the mood for the play-offs. I know we are struggling, but no need to be so "throw-away" about us... Edited August 22, 2016 by Shale Searcher
ABS
Bit condescending towards Leicester? I know we are struggling, but no need to be so "throw-away" about us... Agreed - provided fantastic entertainment on their visit to Belle Vue in one of the most exciting meetings at NSS
poole keith
just a fact, not intending to upset any of their supporters but this year leicester are a very poor team.
ray c
still a speedway meeting leicester might be bottom score dont always reflect the quality of the racing
Mr Bump
Lindgren looking very doubtful as he's going back to Sweden for treatment on his back. Like the idea of the 'celebration of speedway', wish the Lions promotion would show a little initiative sometimes. Although we did have 'Zorbing' on the centre green last year. Hope our lads will put up a fight, wonder why your upcoming match against Belle Vue wasn't targeted for these celebrations? Reckon Poole will win by 15-20 points. Dickie Head
Hougaard in Denmark so RR instead. Poole have chosen the wrong match to celebrate speedway.
LisaColette
Hougaard in Denmark so RR instead. Poole have chosen the wrong match to celebrate speedway.I think it would be the councillors that decided rather than the promotion.
Shale Searcher
Weather could yet again haunt this fixture... Thunderstorms could break out later today down on the south coast, gradually moving inland as the evening progresses, very hit and miss, and will only occur locally where the capping is eroded to allow deep convection.... LisaColette
Hmm, but they said the same thing last weds about thunderstorms in the evening and nothing happened, although the sky did look a bit dodgy!

Forecast changed to heavy rain around 6 pm tonight. Very heavy rain over France heading for the Channel Islands and then on up. Hope it misses. Shale Searcher
Yes, didn't want to be to pessimistic, the rain heading across the channel will die off as it reaches UK, before prepping right back up to Thunderstorm/s if it can break the cap, that's the million dollar question.... Steve Shovlar
Looks like it could rain in the next hour. Need it to pass through and not cause too much damage to the track.

Steve Shovlar
4.45 pm. Still dry looks like the first rain skirted either side of the town. More to come later though.
Shale Searcher
A lot of the rain is being dried out before it gets to the ground (for the time being) still dryish in Poole?
A ORLOV
A lot of the rain is being dried out before it gets to the ground (for the time being) still dryish in Poole? That is due to all the hot air being spouted by SS
