Wolves V Lakeside 22.8.16 Return Of The Champ

Recommended Posts

I came on here looking for news on last night and on whether everyone on the centre green is OK after the big smash at the end of heat 11. All I've read is the usual content that gives this place its bad reputation and has reminded me why I stopped visiting this site!

Not helped by the fact that Swindon is the largest track in the EL so you are comparing one extreme to the other - although Monmore is small the racing is far far better than at The Abbey.

Monmore certainly didn't have a lot to beat last night on sky, very little overtaking in the first half of the match.

Sadly Fred Flange arrived on the thread.

If that is the case I have no reason to doubt your information why is Tai not riding for Wolves full time( are the extra fans sustainalble or is it novelty value) ,i am sure on your figures the finacial reward would overcome the race night issues as I think we would all agree money talks !

It's not all about the money.

I am afraid with regard to the importance of money we will have to beg to differ

I would assume that it was quite serious affair otherwise I am sure SKY would have probably shown it quite unusual for PK to be the cause of it as he is one of the safest riders I have ever seen .

I have no doubt that if we paid more than Poland most of the GP stars would be queuing up to return, regardless of whether we had fewer meetings or a fixed night for the EL.

The important question is whether any increase in crowds these stars would attract is sustained and not just of novelty value. The evidence is that crowds were dropping long before they left.

It would be interesting to know if crowds have increased at Swindon this year following the signing of Doyle or dropped off at Poole after the departure of Magic.

Spot on these are my sentiments as well .

Sure that you didn't really come on here to see if there was a film of the crash..........and have now got the hump - NOT in reality about the content, but because such a clip doesn't appear?

If there were people hurt (and thank God that there wasn't) then clearly the source that you read about the incident from, would surely have said about casualties? ;)

The evidence is as the standard has dropped so have the crowds .

Crowds have been in decline since the 1980's,long before any top riders left in the early 2000's and it has continued since their departure. Have crowds increased at Swindon with the arrival of Doyle this season?

The facts staring us all in the face is that nothing that has been done since the 1980's including the play offs, has even arrested the decline let alone reversed it.

The standard has always been in decline since the 1980's ..as I said it go's hand in hand with the decline in crowds ...why would the crowds go up from having Doyle for Ward ? Doyle is a good rider but he's has nothing on the pulling power of Ward .

The standard of Swindon team this year is worst than last year .

Is he not one of the "Top Riders"( joint second in the world) you say the crowds will come to watch,Hancock not up for it Tai at wolves so surely you have the next best thing !

The point I answered was to the crowds at Swindon last year to this year ...as I said no matter where Doyle is in the world he's not got the pulling power of Ward and the standard of the Swindon side overall is not as good as last year .

Emil is not even in the Gp's but I sure he likely to pull in more crowds than say Greg Hancock .

Lol!

So having first of all described a post as "jackanory" and then what the world champion said to me as "jackanory" and then you described a quote from a post which you actually agreed with and liked last year as "more daydreaming"! Here's the link to save you dribbling on about proof again http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=80307&view=findpost&p=2683669

That'll be some of the wolves fan again ha ha!

In typical fashion you judge others by your own dismal standards and assume that when I question your fantasy speedway rider story just once I'm just goading you which confirms that all your "jackanory" stuff (and there was A LOT!) was just trolling.

So when you demanded a link or proof otherwise it was 'jackanory' it was because "you just like to pick and goad others for the sake of it, however each to their own." (your words) How many times did you pick and goad for the sake of it?

As for post 37, lol! That's not proof of this fantasy you've got about riding a speedway bike ha ha, to use your words it's just more jackanory. Come on I can't even accuse you of bragging (your word again, get it yet?) until you prove it!

Sadly you and brum can't help but troll my posts. I understand why some people prefer picking up after their dog to debating with you but you'll learn.

Fantasy speedway rider story?? Fantasy about riding a bike??

Really? ?

Stop and ask yourself something for a minute - why would a staunch hardcore Wolves fan who goes to virtually all Wolves home matches (check the updates site and see who the texter is virtually every Monday year on year) suddenly NOT be going for any other reason that what I have stated?

Have I been slating Wolves/promotion/sport or stated anywhere that I have no interest anymore?

You know the answer is no.

You may have read my ongoing discussions with a now banned multi aliased poster (bit like yourself) Robert72 who claimed to have been a speedway rider that wouldn't take my dare to race him one Monday at Stoke and had already claimed my ability as a novice (so your made up fantasy speedway rider is just that). Isn't that a coincidence I mentioned going to Stoke on a Monday weeks and months ago and yet here I am still discussing it as the reason why I haven't been to Wolves in a few meetings? ?

Coincidence ? Fantasy?? No the truth.

One thing I can't bear is someone changing names/aliases/multi aliases. It smacks of a troll or someone who has a very unpleasant side. Which you obviously fall right into that category.

One might think it might be clever of you to compare me calling your conversation with Tai and Sam as 'jackanory' (I actually said what was discussed is only jackanory from Tai UNLESS it happens) and me racing my speedway bike on Monday at Stoke as jackanory. Shame it isn't that clever tho really lol.

I have replied to your troll comments so if that makes me as goading then you clearly are the instigator.

Just picked up some dog poop earlier, think it was your post I had to throw in the doggy bin harhar

Don't you just hate multi aliased posters.

Still they give the rest of the forum a laugh.

Keep it up while we try keep awake.

Jackanory bores on again.

Have you actually discussed anything relevant to this thread title yet???

Troll .

I think you'll find that Dave already has the footage, seeing as he is responsible for editing last night's DVD....

And as only three parties were authorised to film last night's meeting (myself, the Ladbrokes camera and the Sky camera) anyone who did consider posting it online would be rather foolish.

You moved the discussion on to your ridiculous speedway rider fantasy not me.

Still jackanory.

Jog on unless you're not done?

You moved it on to it you mean!

Get back to an aces discussion thread. Instead of infecting every thread with your bile.

Can't jog on a topic I started. Tarrar chuck.

That's done then. ........... if only.

If you have nothing to add to the thread that is about the thread then you are just trolling.

Thanks for confirming.

The same could probably be said about most threads that Fred the Troll pollutes. As usual, nothing constructive to be said about the match that the thread is discussing, just Fred peddling his usual boring old personalised drivel that nobody cares about. No law against riding your. Speedway bike Stevebrum if that's what you want to do and you don't have to justify it to some troll but please stop feeding it so we can get back on topic.

Spot on.

Steve is a regular rider on the amateur scene as many people know. Steve, don't respond to Flange/Drop a Cog at all, many of us have made that mistake too many times.

Back to the match, many were predicting a runaway Wolves win but I always suspected Lakeside could pose problems and indeed they did.

From a Wolves perspective it was good to see the reserves amongst the pts but there are going to tougher reserve pairings they will face should they make the play-offs.
