Shale Searcher
With Leicester v Poole postponed due to the weather....... Does anyone think this is not only depressing, but really says where speedway is in 2016, late summer, warm evenings, but not another single speedway meeting fixtured for tonight? Can anyone find out what speedway fixtures were inked in for the same Saturday date (nearest Saturday) for seasons in 2015 2010 2000 1990 1980 Just wondered, if I had fancied going to see some speedway on a Saturday night in previous years, this time of year, what were my options???? SCB, can you help?? Edited August 20, 2016 by Shale Searcher
mdmc82
Lakeside V Coventry is still on tonight. There are actually another 6 fixtures on tonight you could go to, even with Leicester rained off so I'm not really sure what your point is? http://www.speedwaygb.co/homepage As it goes, with the weather being poor this weekend, it's a good think there aren't too many fixtures in place. mdmc82
So looking at Arnieg findings, there are actually more now than the last few years as there was meant to be 7 fixtures today. out of those 7 listed fixtures, 2 have been rained off so not really height of summer. Makes this thread very pointless unless you change the title. Edited August 20, 2016 by mdmc82

It provides statistical evidence of people's rose tinted view of speedway in years gone by.

Shale Searcher
Good point 👍🏻 Sorry Guys, I was looking on the Elite League and Premier League threads on this forum, missed the Lakeside v Cov one, because of the way it was started (lumped in with the reverse fixture) And I could find no fixtures from the Premier League thread!! Shows lack of interest though, doesn't it (especially on here) Are the other ones from the NL? British speedway fan's dream? Naah, Britsih speedway fan's dream is to always want to play the victim and find an irrational whinge to show how repressed we all are. Maybe a nice walk to a canalside pub or meal with that special someone would be a good way to spend an evening on this hot summers day. With no speedway in the top two tiers I will reluctantly be going to Lakeside this evening. Beer festival with meal followed by season ticket duty at my local team will be filling my day before this chore of a visit to the eastern extremities of the M25. Life for some of us can sometimes be a real bitch.

Like I said, sorry, I based the thread on meetings registered on the BSF (Didn't include the National League) so perhaps I should have said in the top 2 divisions (missed the Lakeside v Cov because it was rolled into the Cov v Lakeside thread) There is not a GP tonight, are there any other International meetings on? (SEC or?)

TB1
With regards to stoke being off again, I haven't been there for a lot of years but does someone sneeze on the track and its off, or is there a deeper problem with the place? I know they've had many vandalism issues in the past.

No problem with the other two bends, but I wonder if there is an under surface stream somewhere. Third bend always had 'Atkin's hole' in a bad spot. Is that anyway related to Norbold's hole?
