dump that clutch
One of the worst tracks I've seen this season. Swindon's track used to be one of the best? Are they trying to make it a 'home' advantage track? Pearson said at the start that Jason Doyle had given instructions that he wanted it slicker going in to the corners etc.....what's that all about? What a boring meeting......thank heavens for the 'wolverhampton' switch backs! And as for Pedersen at reserve? I'd be very embarrassed if I was him? Elite league speedway really is a joke these days! so you would prefer riders two wheeling in with it being grippy going in the corners.. slicker entering means you can race into the corners. regarding the Wolverhampton switch backs.. smaller tracks generally means closer racing, more mistakes to be made, hence more passing. I admit, Blunsdon used to be a great racing track, and sometimes it still is, but like most tracks, it's gate and go and you can generally fill in your programme after the first lap. Gavan
The track was fine last night, there were 8 passes in 15 heats and yes 13 and 15 were the best but you tend to get that when you have riders of similar ability on track. Most tracks are gate and go and Poole fans can hardly moan about a poor track when theirs is one of the worst. Wolves is a great track its just the usual merchants who believe Speedway should be about going flat out and no throttle control. Darcy Ward was a legend around Lakeside and Mark Loram sized up Eastbourne pretty quick. Someone said Tai looked out of control lol. He had to much power in his first couple of rides , hence lifting at the start and missing the corners, once he got the set up he was untouchable

stevebrum
It spotlights the size issue when you see races from Monmore interspersed with races from Swindon, scalextrix speedway!! Straights you go to quick, bang on the brakes and enter the corners backwards!! Even Woffinden looked out of control in his first couple of rides.... I know variety is the spice of life, but I cannot get used to seeing small track speedway.. I thought that a most enjoyable meeting. Well done Robins. As for Wolverhampton's track, sorry, but to me that ain't SPEEDway. Yes, its entertaining in an end of the pier novelty value kind of a way but it isn't what I want from speedway. Its like watching dodgem car's when you'd rather be watching F1. Neither of you may like small tracks, however what was proved was the racing was so much better. The heats from Wolves brightened up a dull meeting with little passing. 2 heats out of 15 were decent compared to all the heats they showed from Wolves. I guess it depends on your definition of good speedway. If spread out, little passing or close racing is your thing just because it's a big track then wah to their own. However give me a track with passing and close racing every time. Yet again Wolves delivers.

Sidney the robin
The track last night was the best i have seen it for a long time.Very smooth ok it was slick but the meeting was enjoyable Holder and Andersen really put themselves about later in the meeting.Funny i watched the highlights from the Wolves meeting with my lad even he said Woffinden looked out of control. Not a lover of the Wolves track never have been HATED the British Final being there Somerset Sheffield Scunthorpe all better tracks in my opinion. Woz01
Nothing wrong with the track last night but it didn't produce the best racing. Chris Louis pretty much made that assessment before the meeting started. It did get better towards the end to be fair.

Dress it how you like, but IMO the racing was cr#p and I'm glad I dont have to pay to watch that rubbish every week!
SteveLyric2
A bit late coming onto the forum this morning due to unforeseen circumstances!! Just been catching up with all the many (expected) posts........!! Well done the the Robins. The much better team on the night. Although I'll take Poole over 2 legs if we get the chance in the P/O's. (Apparantly Pearson's love child did quite well at Wolves last night too - in case anyone watching on Sky didn't know?!) As one or two have said on the Poole forum, you won't win meetings without at least one - ideally 2 - of your heat leaders reaching double figures!! For those criticising the track - all tracks are required to be slick - or at least a lot slicker than the 'old days' - because the machinery now is far better suited to it. As for those calling for changes to the Poole side, I'd like to know how you can bring in a couple of 8 + point riders with Poole's team total as it is now. OK there may be a 5 or 6 point rider available (Milik or THJ) but really?! Kurtz ain't going anywhere - this is a 'learning season' for him. He and Jack Holder will be the future core of the team. Bjarne (if he gets back into the 1-5) possibly - as Matt has told him he's too slow, as evidenced last night again. Buzz has clearly got some issues with set-ups both here and abroad, coming out on Newman's bike for his 2nd ride!! But there isn't much of a window left before the clamp down on any replacements comes in prior to the play-offs. I've said it before on this forum and elsewhere - Belle Vue were my pick at the beginning of the season and I see nothing to change that prediction at the moment --- regrettably!!! A ORLOV
If we met Poole in the play offs I would put a few quid on Swindon. Our reserves have just come back from injuries, they will get better and score more. Surely Justin Sedgmen must get his bikes sorted out and will then score more, he has shown in the past what he can do. One or two of the Poole riders are beatable both at Swindon and Poole. The overall result would be close but I think Swindon could edge it.

foreverblue
Brady has not cost you over the season a learning season for him Holder/Andersen they have both have been up and down all year.Ellis( done more than anough), Newman,Kurtz have done there jobs the others mixed seasons for all No not over the season but when we needed him to win heat 14 he couldn't, what i am saying is will he let us down in the play offs like he did last night. Kacper Gomolski has a proven track record in the play offs.
LisaColette
Only change I would consider is Dudek for Buzz if poss! But even that is very harsh. But it would counteract with Wolves bringing in Tai.
sommelier
Is that why he lost to a PL rider in his first heat?! Did you go to wolves last night ? NO you would have been at Swindon or are you just a armchair viewer!! Must dash, now off to the IOW to watch some speedway!

foreverblue
Absolutely - I was only looking at possibilities average-wise!! I know what your saying about Brady but i would replace him with Kacper Gomolski fantastic in the play offs last season and more of a battler. Brady one for the future but he could cost us the title. When he missed the gate last night he gave up.
