National Speedway Stadium - Too Sanitized?

Recommended Posts

I would be surprised if he is because his blood pressure was going through the roof when I stood with him at Hyde Road all those years ago. He had, shall we say a ruddy complexion.

I know someone said that he turned up at the Dog Bowl a few years ago but I would be amazed if he is still with us in the flesh.

But even if he has passed through the Pearly Gates, you can be sure he will be dressed in his smart brown jacket (with elbow patches), brown trousers and properly polished shoes looking down from the celestial terraces adjacent to the start line, smiling benevolently at the gleaming new home for his beloved Aces and thinking, " I can't believe they won't let you take your own bloody sandwiches!"

:t:

I used to go to away meetings with Soldier Boy, he moved to Ireland quite a few years ago.

Oh come on Martin. You go to a restaurant primarily to eat the food on offer. You know in advance what type of cuisine you're getting, so if you're not a fan of spicy food you wouldn't go to an Indian restaurant.

Speedway Stadium food consists largely of burgers, chips, pies etc

Not many have a healthy option for those who are watching their weight. I agree with a previous post that you shouldn't need to eat for the couple of hours it takes to run a normal 15 heat meeting, but you've been to the PLRC at Sheffield. That meeting takes 3 or 4 hours to run, so by the time you've parked, queued to get in a left that's a good 5-6 hours.

You're telling me that I've got to go that long without anything to eat because they want me to eat their processed fast food rubbish?

Have to agree with this.

I don't think it's fair that you have to pay quite a bit for processed rubbish at Speedway Stadiums and it is the same poor food you get at most football stadiums.

I think times have moved on with eating especially with forieign cuisine and free from foods becoming more popular but unfortunately stadium cuisine has not really kept up with the times and they probably still order the same frozen burgers in from the supplier they were using in the 70s.

If stadiums don't want people to bring food in, they should offer far more choice of food in my opinion.

Hello KKS / Morrissey Fan.

Darcys Onion, I think you have got yourself in a pickle here, friend, because I haven't got a clue what the point of your post might be.

Perhaps you would elucidate?

No problem.

I was going to hook you up with the butchers daughter who works in a pub, she's a right goer.

I'll have a rethink.

Hopefully, you will get that security job that you are after.

You'll be in with half a chance then - girls just love a guy in a uniform :)

Now, don't you be overdoing it.

I was merely suggesting that your daft story about joining some non-drinking, non-smoking, non-eating, no-sex religious cult (the Taliban?) was a story so silly that only KKS could have invented it...

But then I had another thought.... Welcome back Gusters!!

Have you been imbibing some kind of hallucinogenic substance?

If not, I would certainly give it a go.

Hope it all works out for you.

I spoke to the management tonight and if you contact them and tell them what's what you won't have an issue.

Come say hello if you visit and we can have a pint if you're allowed.

Thank you very much for doing that - really kind of you. Unlikely to be able to this late in season (and with a holiday booked already) but will do as you suggest next year if we decide to come up.
