oldtimer
From 2017 the FIM and BSPA will introduce a major change to the rider elimination rule for all speedway meetings. In a joint statement it was said that it can be safely assumed that no rider would deliberately knock another rider off. it follows therefore that any such racing incident must be purely accidental . The new rule will adopt the Olympic rule to be known as the "Cavendish Rule" in that the rider who caused a crash will not be excluded and the race be allowed to continue. A spokesman for Nicki Pedersen said, "Nicki welcomes this rule change which was long overdue, it should make the racing more exciting".
