KING'S LYNN v STORM, PREVIEW

Tuesday August 16, 2016

COVENTRY Storm are back in action on Wednesday when they visit Kings Lynn in their latest Travel Plus National League fixture.

The City Gearboxes Storm have an excellent record at the Adrian Flux Arena, having won on each of their three league visits since entering the National League in 2013.

Boss Laurence Rogers has again booked Ellis Perks to guest for injured No.1 Dan Greenwood in an unchanged line-up from last Wednesdays match at Birmingham.

Perks will again stand in for Greenwood when the Storm visit Rye House on Saturday (2pm start).

The Young Stars remain in play-off contention but have been rocked by the loss of key reserve Shane Hazelden with a broken leg sustained at Kent last Monday, and they hand a debut to youngster Taylor Hampshire in his place.

Rogers said: If our three heat-leaders can do what they did at Birmingham and the others can provide a few more points, its a meeting we can win.

Weve won every time at Kings Lynn so far, which is nice at one of my old tracks, and hopefully we can keep that up.

With Whitmore & Hampshire starting at reserve tonight does this create the youngest reserve pairing ever?

I certainly can't think of a younger pairing. Jordan Jenkins & Sam Bebbe at the Mildenhal v Kent meeting were both 15-years old, by I think Whitmore & Hampshire are just a few months younger.

Who ever said the MDL is a waste of time??

Our boys made a few mistakes against the Storm and paid the price with the loss but at the end of the day it's all about track time and experience for all these young riders.

Am impressed with Taylor Hampshire who had his first meeting for the Young Stars tonight, wish him well for the future
