Kings Lynn V Swindon 18/8

Recommended Posts

Well what a pile of wotsit that was. Nearly every race over by bends 1/2. Plenty of effort from the Stars, but when we are constantly being outgated, it's an uphill task, add a few engine problems and the Robins breezed to a relatively easy win :-(

Even NKI struggled out of the gate tonight, although Batchelor managed to get in his way a few times - not a good pairing.

About the only rider to come out with much credit was Josh Bailey, who was on the pace and a tad unlucky to be excluded from his first ride.

I wouldnt put too much store on tonights result Kings Lynn by all accounts were awful although better performances by Sedgeman and Morris which will help their confidence

Have to agree. We are poor away from home and yet even we won at King's Lynn and that was when they had Lambert's and rose

Glad Swindon won this at least they have the ambition to be competitive. Kings Lynn gave that up a week ago putting out a frankly awful 1-7 v/s Poole. Hope the racing was good for the fans.

I have previously stated on here, that the speedway cannot get any worse at Lynn, but i was wrong. Last night was dreadful. So much so, one has to question your own sanity watching such a lack lustred performance. The track offered nothing, once you left the start, and most races were follow the leader. Its seems it was tailored made for anyone who could gate. and here laid the foundation why the Stars struggled. Doyle, as sharp as ever, was never in danger of being beaten. He alone achieved more race wins than the whole of the Stars team. Like I have said before, losing is not a problem, as long as we make a fight of it and the racing is competitive. Tonight the match was over by heat 6. We were 8 points behind and had nothing in the cupboard to fight back. Even Niels was founding it difficult to gate, and powerless on a track that offered nothing....There was no atmosphere, no excitement, no expectation at all......Just a cold wind blowing that made one wish they hadn't bothered to come

It was noted that the 2 Stars riders missing last night, top scored in the PL match. It appeared the team, with these two riders short, seemed acceptable to defeat and offered very little fight. Such is the state of the Elite league, nobody gives a damn...... Drastic changes have to be made....

Addicted to Speedway as I am, I struggle to understand the downward spiral the sport has gone. The Rules, The BSPA, The Promotions, The guests, R/R ; even the Riders need to clarify their intentions, because it's quite obvious, appealing to the fans is not something, any of above consider. Last night we also had both Rosco and Lyon moaning about the rules. Them, even being instrumental people of the rule making procedure are still moaning about them .. imagine how we feel......

Last night could be the last match I go to this year, such is my disappointment of the way our speedway has gone ....

Couldn't wait to get home.....

What I'd like to see is us sign a rider or riders with a view of team places for 2017 no point in sticking with the team the way it is so if the club have riders in mind for next season and of course if they don't have team places in UK get them here now and see what they can do .

Without knowing the team format or the strength required next year it would be difficult to know what direction to go. But we have too many riders with other things on their minds... Rory and Batch are recovering from injuries, so always a question mark, Niels hasn't got the time to devote to all the matches, Huckenbeck is a waste of space..

Using Lambert and Rose as examples we want riders who are prepared to fight and be totally committed to the cause. If they can't do that then we don't want them here....

I agree it would be difficult without knowing next season foremat but let's get someone in who's going to get people talking get some interest back this season is over regarding play offs but let's not end this season on a total downer or we will take that mood into 2017

Great result. But it is a long way especially after the A14 was closed, and there were several diversions, and after 25 mile we ended up back where we started!

Virtually no overtaking. Josh's one in heat 3 to go between both Stars being the only one not gifted. Also very surprised no track grading until after heat 10 considering we were out the gates quicker than the Stars.

Were you watching a different match to what I was??? A marked improvement from Huckenbeck with 5 points... total commitment spending and effort... getting back to what he was a the start of he season..

An injured Bomber Harris got 9+1 from 4 rides, and that was riding injured with busted ribs/bruising.. You can't knock the fella for his commitment, and taking the guest booking, perhaps nobody else would?

Iversen has gone off the boil by the looks of it..

What was the track like tonight?

can't understand why some are surprised that swindon won!!!!??

yet another patched-up Lynn side had no chance.....even Kai getting some points for a change didn't make any difference...... Niels has given up it seems but the rest were mediocre at best.

its good of Harris to turn up ofc but if he's unfit he'll not be at his best so why bother? 9+1 from 5 rides is no replacement for Lanbert. Plus ofc Kerr was no substitute for Rose and it was nfair on Bailey to expect much from him.

Lynn have been under strength all season so no great surprise that this was our 4th home loss!

Terrible season :sad::mad:

The fight for 4th place looks like it will go down the Lakeside V Swindon fixture on September the 16th. Swindon are 4 points ahead, but have only 2 home meetings left, whereas lakeside have 3. Assuming the home team win each of them, then Lakeside need a point at Coventry (possible), King's Lynn (also possible) or Wolves. Swindon are unlikely to pick anything up at Belle Vue or Wolves.

Of course, if Swindon lose at home to Poole, then things get more interesting, with (probably) only a Swindon win at Lakeside being enough to make 4th place in the table.

Looks like an exciting run-in for 4th place
