Ghostwalker
Just watched Dackarna v Rospiggarna, TiVo box recording. What a fantastic performance from Peter Ljung, certainly the finest moment of his that I have witnessed. Wasn't really sure who to support as I don't particularly like or dislike any riders in the Dackarna or Masarna teams. Would it of been beneficial for Rospiggarna to eliminate Dackarna from the playoffs considering their dominance in the league and Dackarna are more likely to take points from Piraterna & Indianerna than them in the playoffs? No one can fault Rospiggarna efforts. Holta was very hit & miss but his elbow on AJ in the deciding heat was as important as anything, surprised he was given the nod over Dudek if I'm honest for that, or was Dudek struggling mechanically? Still struggling to comprehend how the likes of Timo Lahti are preferred over Brits such as Cooke & King, for Swedish teams. He will probably be a league winner this year. Because despite this narrow loss from what I have seen (televised stuff) their are fewer weak points in the Rospiggarna then all the others. With Krzysztof Buczkowski at reserve, any weakness is completely nullified and they can bring Max Fricke back. Was impressed by Thorssell. If Dackarna are going to do anything in the playoffs, Janowski needs to turn his form around pronto and they need to find someone at reserve alongside Pepsi to score points. I think yes it would more beneficial for Rospiggarna to eliminate Dackarna, both from a opponent strength point of view both also from a financial point of view since Masarna would bring in allot more away fans then what Dackarna would do. Dackarna could not choose Dudek since he was not eligible to be chosen. The team manager can only choose two of the three best scorers (reserves not eligible) so since Dudek only was the fourth best, he wasn't eligible. Daniel King have previously ridden in Sweden for Smederna, Vargarna and Dackarna (maybe 4-5-6 seasons in total) but haven't really been particular successful. Don't know enough about Cooke to comment on him. Rospiggarna's team manager Mikael Teurnberg have previously been heavily involved in Finnish speedway so he have a big fondness of Finnish riders. AFAIK Timo Lahti is registered at Teurnberg's address as well. IMO Teurnberg is a little too "obsessed" with Lahti. When John Lindman was injured in the beginning of the season, Teurberg decided to ignore the agreement to use three Swedish (by citizenship) riders. The Elite teams association (ESS) wasn't too happy and at least considered giving Rospiggarna a fine. Teurnberg was very upset with that and I think he and the club decided to leave the ES (note sure)S. This was very costly for the Rospiggarna if they did since the league winner is awarded 100'000SEK in prize money which is about 9100 GBP. It was the same story last year when Teurnberg used Lahti on Swedish license to circumvent the agreement for three Swedish riders. I definitely dislike Teurnberg's behaviour and I don't know why is so obsessed with Lahti. It also rumoured that Lahti intents to pick up a Swedish citizenship next year. Swedish speedway in on the verge of collapse, lots of Swedish riders are left without a team/squad place but Teurberg (and Dackarna last season) our U21 twc team is the worst ever and the only rider we have in the Ind U21 wc series is in by a wild card. Teurnberg then can't even use three Swedish riders? Why can't he respect the agreement when all other teams can?
