topsoil
I'm going to miss my weekly dose of Gary Havelock pulling faces at the camera and giving his pearls of wisdom like his views on the unsatisfactory starts in the home meeting against Swindon "its like... you know.... like.... you know.....it's just....you know....daft". Quite.
solrac
Has British Speedway really become the second class citizens of the sport , just living off the scraps & being an after though for riders ? Yes.
Shale Searcher
Yes. No, it's further down the pecking order than the scraps, it's as bad as mechanically reclaimed meat....
Trees
So the main issue here for me is, I pay for Sky Sports to be able to see BEL/BPL speedway regularly and I'm not. Very disappointing and Sky Sports is becoming worthless to me ......
Haza
Why could they not have shown last nights Polish fixture Gorzów v Zielona Gora ? That would have done me though they wouldn't show as it make our leagues look dire .

Steve Shovlar
Will sky renew there contract when it comes to a end or will bt sports go for it we shall see ?Depends how happy bt have been with showing the GP series. Only they will know their viewing figures. If they are decent enough it might help persuade them to have a go at taking the speedway from Sky. They would have to come in with an improved offer but two stations bidding for EL speedway is exactly what is needed to bring in a decent sum of money. Personally I would love BT to get the contract. Sky have done very little to help promote the sport and even their adverts for what is coming up next month doesn't mention the sport. It's used as a cheap filler. They spend much much more on one premier league game than the whole contract for the speedway. A fresh BT presentation, keeping Nigel and Kelvin, would be great. Yes less people would watch but we don't hear the rugby clubs moaning their team is on BT rather than sky. Why could they not have shown last nights Polish fixture Gorzów v Zielona Gora ? That would have done me though they wouldn't show as it make our leagues look dire .It was a hell of a meeting. Very predictable ending though. Surely, that must have been highlights? Poland only race Sundays, that's why we need to go to one night per week? Ooops! Forgot, Poland ride when they like, with whatever riders they like!! 1 or 2 nights a week will never work for BEL, Poland would not show any respect for our chosen night/s, nor would the riders..... Wolfsbane
Wonderful opportunity for Sky on monday 29th. Double header at Monmore v Swindon & KL. 18.30 start time, 30 heats for the cost of setting up for 15. Currently listed as Aces v Poole, can totally understand that. So cover all three meetings, the Swindon match shouldn't be far off done by the time the Aces match gets going. Doing two tracks ain't a problem in the play offs. #Megamonday Edited August 16, 2016 by Wolfsbane

marko
I didn't miss there not being a meeting, I also didn't miss the same old people complaining about how poor the racing is and asking why when the telly is in there is hardly anyone there to watch it

Forgot, Poland ride when they like, with whatever riders they like!! 1 or 2 nights a week will never work for BEL, Poland would not show any respect for our chosen night/s, nor would the riders..... My irony-meter just exploded! Poland race mainly 1 day, a Sunday. Probably 95% of their meetings. They have the odd Friday and they did ride Monday this week too. Meanwhile we ride on any of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday in the EL. I think we've even had a couple of Tuesday earlier in the season too. So who is it that really rides, "when they like"? As for Poland not respecting our night, why wouldn't they? Maybe if Sweden had Tuesday and Thursday, Poland had Sunday and another day, GPs have Saturday then we could have two days too - Maybe Wednesday and Friday? Denmark rather like Wednesday`s and Friday`s As for Poland- they always have Easter Monday as well- this season they have had more than the "odd Friday" and have also ridden a couple of Saturday league fixtures- they are normally quite good at re-arranging rain offs, using Thursday/ Friday -avoiding any clashes with other countries league`s Edited August 17, 2016 by racers and royals
damosuzuki
To be fair, you could probably pack the entire EL schedule into a week or two. Do it end of March no issues with any other leagues, then playoffs beginning of October. Sorted.
