Workington V Ipswich Pl 13/8/16 7pm

Recommended Posts

Both sides go into this meeting missing riders who are racing in the SEC Pairs Final in Latvia so both teams are using National League riders in the number 4 position

Comets - Wells, Campton, Hansen, Blacklock, Vissing, Roynon, Williamson

Witches - King, Sarjeant, Barker, Priest, Risager, Jacobs, Hume

Unfortunately I think the comets will be to strong overall, unless morten can score a max, then we could be in for a shout. Again unfortunately it's a big fast track which yet again unfortunately are not Mortens most productive. Because of that reason only I think the comets by 10 maybe more.

A point for the Witches would be a welcome surprise - anymore relys on something strange happening IMO.

Realistically need a win to put a foot in the play off door to stop it slamming shut after blowing back and forth for weeks now.

Shame both sides are missing a rider but at least its even for a fair contest. Is it the riders choice or do they risk a federation ban if they refused the pairs??

If we place a fat lady in the doorway it won't slam shut.

Just hope our lot get their set ups right from the start, unlike last season. 5-1 5-1 5-1 4-2 if memory serves, then we got things sorted and snatched a point.

Shame the fans are being short changed, why replace 2 good exciting riders who have a perfectly good reason for not being there with 2 juniors?

it's not a perfectly good reason...it's a mickey mouse pairs competition, Poland are using Kacper Gomolski and Denmark are using Rasmus Jensen... I think that proves my point, it's on a SGP day as well

Nice one "J" ask Panthers fans...

Ahhh, trade and inside secret. We will find out tonight, just wish there wasn't a clash with Rye House v Glasgow tonight. I have always enjoyed my visits to Derwent Park (well, since 1976 anyway when you naughty lot sent a full strength Witches team home with its broom well and truly between its legs after beating the higher league team fair an square in the Inter League Cup. If memory serves, you also went on to knock out the Stars in the next round, so it wasn't just a one off that season.)

I am afraid to say that he is racing in a league too high and sad to say he looks like an accident about to happen. Hope I am proved wrong

I understand what you are saying Mick, and there are plenty who would agree, but the learning curve has been so well and truly taken on board in the past 12 months that, if it continues, I can see Dan being a Team GB international in five years time. It will be exciting to watch that is for sure. I can only wish him well and support his efforts and temper his enthusiasm a notch as Dan could well be in the vanguard of a wealth of young British talent coming through currently. Taking it up the grades is of course the acid test. Massif respect to Poultec and Olly Allen (and everyone else involved) for their efforts so far.

Sorry it doesn't prove your point, the riders HAVE to be there or face a ban. We all know it's a Mickey mouse meeting, but from a riders perspective they have no choice, so why should the fans at Workington tonight get less quality than they would normally expect.

totally agree if a rider is instructed to ride by his relivant authoroty then a facilaty should be allowed

if the rider chooses rather than being told hes riding in that meeting thats another thing

Be wary of talking up Sir Alec Junior too much macca.

At the moment it seems to be a battle for him to stay on for 4 laps.

Mind you fox holes does seem a bit bumpy at the moment.

Now our wee Dan the 12 Year Old Man. He IS a very promising talent!!
