I think Belle view may miss the lightning gating Dan Bewley But they only have a three man team to beat, It could be decided by how many gift points Raiders bottom four can pick up..

I think Rob & Ben will feature well for the Raiders but certainly won't have it easy as Wilson is a strong guest choice, Williamson & Shuttleworth are in great form at the moment and Payne is no slouch.

I don't see Woods or Leek having enough engine power to trouble anyone, Saul & Locke are hit &/or bust riders which makes it a bit alarming considering the speeds they will hit tonight that they don't yet have the full skill set required to cope with it.

If the Raiders get 40 i think they will have done well.

Hope Andy Mellish & Macauley Leek don't feel too second hand after their crash on the first bend of heat 8. It looked a shocker, very lucky that both walked away from that one.

I thought it was a decent meeting the Raiders heat leaders rode really well. They just needed some back up from the lower order. It wasn't through lack of effort though.Heat 15 was a tremendous race credit to all 4 riders.Really enjoying the National league its very entertaining.

Watched heat 15 great race , interesting that Payne and then Rob broke the NL track record when the track looked like it wasn't overly grippy and after a quick look the new time would have won close to half the EL races held so far.

So even though NL the boys are still going quick.

Rob Branford has really upped his game in the last month or two and fully deserves his elevation in to the Rockets team proper with the resignation of Peter Karger..Good luck to him and the rest of the lads for the remaining couple of months of the season....

Can see why you get slagged off all the time at various places, do you ever go to Speedway with any other intention of having a pop at the younger riders trying to get started. If Rye House are looking to win things some of you comments may carry water, but as the club and fans have said many times the aim of the Raiders is to develop talent for the Rockets team, just stop having a pop all the time.

Teaboy if you had our bottom end at Kent i do not think the fans there would be to happy either...I do not get slagged off every where as you suggest in fact i get a considerable number who like most of my post,s ,,My point here is that we are not snapping up some of the real prospects out there that are available ,like other clubs are,,And id have a bet with anyone that none of the current rye rookies will ever make the Rockets team....Your entitled to your opinion of me and i do not mind,,But i have not been involved in speedway, with riders,,sponsership,. and track maintainence for over 60 yrs with out being able to see the difference between a real prospect ,,or someone unlikely to make the grade....

I understand that you know your stuff, and are dedicated to the sport. But put yourself in the position of the young lads learning thier stuff getting knocked all the time, especially from someone who follows the team. I've seen both Locke and Bowdry practice at Lydd this year and both looked great and once they start to click they will go on to have good careers. As Rye have a "senior" side too surely it's a good thing to have a group of novices belonging to the club getting plenty of track time and earning thier stripes. Whilst the senior team reserve pairing get tough races with heat leaders keeping them both sharp and earning a few more quid. Win win to me

What would you say the grade is Waco?

There are a lot of riders who mature later in their careers of course, look at Charles Wright and Paul Starke, both integral parts of the Somerset team that looks set to beat all before them in the Premier League this season. They both spent a long time in the NL, with a few spells in PL sides, not making huge waves before it clicked for them. Danno Verge looked like he'd never amount to anything while at Scunthorpe and last season at Kent, this year he's scoring solidly for the Kings.

Charles Wright and PaulStark have made the grade at premier league level after a while in the national , where they were pretty decent riders ..but they are far outnumbered by those that have not, many dissapear all together..Danno Verge i chat reguarly too and has improved this season mainly by improving his fitness,,,saw him at Kent kings last night and he rode very well ,,wether he makes it to premier league level however remains to be seen i sincerly hope so.....

To be fair neither Ben nor Rob are overnights sensations.

I dont personally know Ben , but from his stats he has been around for a while and has started to show good signs and is one of the success of the new no 7 rule.

As for Rob he had a good season last year for Edinburgh and Rye and after being made to wait for his crack this year in the PL , has shown how much he has improved.

So be patient , you learn more riding than you do sitting on the sidelines injured, some wont make it but others will given time.

Not sure wether your residing in England or Australia Junior Fan but if its aussie i can tell you Rob is getting even better this season , him and Ben are at a very simular level, but complete opposites in riding styles..Ben is a good gater with a smooth quite style..Rob as you probably know is a do or die battler rides way out in the dirt and win or lose is always entertaining giving it everything,,.I think there is further improvement in both of them,,,The,have just won the 4s and must have a good chance in the pairs comp this month,Hope so....Of course if your living over here you will know all this already?
