mikebv
Well this signed turns Wolves into playoff semi finialists to clear favourites over Belle Vue who must be gutted after all the hard work they have done in 2016. To Stick with the same one to seven all season, only to see another club bring a ringer in at the death to take the title away must irk. Pooles chances of reaching the final now have reduced dramically. It's in the rules but is hardly within the spirit of the sport. Personally bringing in ringers for the playoffs like this should be against the rules. Just my opinion. Correct Steve... You should only be able to bring in ringers during the season when you use guest riders!!😁 The whole season is based on ringer after ringer, week in week out so why should the play offs be any different? Good to have the World Champ back. A Speedway team improving their chances by bringing better riders in to try and win the league is just like a normal sport for once.. screm
Most of us realise woofinden coming to ride here is a good thing. Quite a few seem to be saying its wolves cup to lose now and if they win it will be just be because of woofinden. It will be interesting how moody lindgren likes playing second fiddle. This reminds me of last season when Swindon signed ward. They raced at Belle Vue early in the season and lost that meeting on the last bend of heat 15, that's how close it was. They came back with ward and just about scraped a point. Ward was brilliant though and well worth the admission money. Like I said before, Poole are no weaker than before and to be honest wolves have got plenty of soft spots in their team who can be very good or pretty crap, just like Swindon last season. Just because Woffinden has signed for Wolves doesn't mean its theirs to lose, they will still have to go out and win it on the track. Obviously their chances are enhanced but the likes of Belle Vue and Poole will have plenty to say, in fact I make Belle Vue favourites to win this years EL.
screm
Based on this season's form around Belle Vue had woofinden been in the team instead of kylmakorpi wolves would have won all 4 meetings. Its not even close, wolves cup to lose but they are more than capable of ballsing it up if Poole ride well. If your going down that route then based on the last time Woffinden for in the EL he was a 7pt average rider. Wolves are a good team and will be a force in the play offs but there is no way its guaranteed.
BWitcher
Iread your reply to my original post ,gave you an answer ,I feel that is all that needed to be said on my behalf regarding your comment on the subject. A discussion forum really isn't the right place for you then is it? You make a very strange statement, are asked to explain what you mean and refuse to do so. That's an adult way of discussing things! So we can take it as there is no reasoning behind your post and it was just nonsense then? Come on, enlighten us, how is Tai Woffinden signing for Wolves an example of why speedway will never move forward? You must have a reason! Gavan
It's great news and well done to Wolves in getting it sorted. Isn't it funny how it's only Poole fans moaning!! Belle Vue fans haven't said a word. Love seeing the troll getting his knickers in a twist lol
Bonzo
Man, some right old crap written by some. Don't see what the deal is, a team has decided to strengthen in order to have a crack at the title, seems like good management to me. No rules have been broken. The reasons for the change are irrelevant, doesn't matter whether it's an injury or whether the boss wants to try and improve the side. Yes Holder was injured when replaced by Hancock but the management wanted to keep the side strong, Greg was available, it worked for Poole and it worked for Greg. Wolves are in a good position, want to make a challenge, Tai is available and it made sense to make the change, again, it suits both parties. Sport is about winning and as long as it's done legally it's not a problem.
gazzac
Don't often venture onto the elite league section being a long term Eastie fan and so pleased we're in the NL, but surely it's great to have Woffy back in the elite for whatever reason, within the rules as has been said. Poole have manipulated the rules over the years to their benefit far more than this, and at the end of the day it'll be Poole and BV in the playoff final for sure with Woffy in the Wolves team or not so can't see why there's any fuss really! orion
Can't see what is wrong with this at all ..first of all it's within the rules then of course is great for uk speedway in general and makes the rest of the season look exciting ,,let's be honest it's not just not a ringer for the play offs as Wolves still have to work to do to make them . As for this I feel sorry for the rider being replaced and they should keep the same side etc what a load of crock that is . this is pro sport and the idea is to try to give yourself the best chance of winning within the rules and that is what Wolves have done it's not a under nine's football league with the idea to give everyone a game in case it upset's one of the kids . As it stands this makes Wolves quite strong but with with there weak reserves it only gives them a chance of Beating Belle Vue and Poole but it's a chance rather than having no hope at all without the change
Shadders
Just popped over to the EL section to watch the Shovlar meltdown. Keep up the comedy. This is hilarious

stevebrum
Absolutely, I dont see what Wolves has done wrong, or against the rules. Tai has missed one full season and all of this season so far so Wolves are quite entitled to sign him on his current average. Well said. SPEEDY69
If it wss a straight league then i understand maybe but strengthening just for the finish makes a mockery of it. Why not let all the teams reset, contracts end and all those in the playoffs have new sides? Riders dropped would at least know it's on the cards, i don't like the chopping and changing, no matter what team or who the riders are.
Steve0
Great signing - nothing wrong with Wolves replacing one rider for another with a lower average - who happens to be world champion! Hoping for a BV vs Wolves final now and don't mind who wins.
WestGorton1884
Tai Woofenden wonders why British Speedway is in the doldrums , look no further than decisions like this . So the Aces ,and the rest of the elite league spend 3 quarters of the season striving for a play off spot , only for Wolves to throw the world champion in just in time for the play offs . I understand TW is a Wolves asset but if he didn't think it was worth his while riding in England at the start of the season , whats changed ? Makes a complete mockery of the sport .

Hoping for a BV vs Wolves final now and don't mind who wins. Would be helluva final between 2 teams who enjoy each other's tracks, & big away support from both clubs to generate an electric atmosphere. Fans of those underdogs (apparently) Poole might have something to say about that though!
SPEEDY69
No mockery - it makes perfect sense! The fact you don't like it - that's tough because it's happened I suspect i'm not alone. Many people bemoan guests and double downers etc. and want to see settled sides. Why couldn't all four playoff teams reset as at the start of the year?
