Shale Searcher
Very poor behaviour from a World Champion, wether he's British, Australian, Polish or Swedish!! Â He needs media training more than anything else!! Â Should not have tweeted, facebooked, instagrammed, tumblr'd, beboe'd, snap-chat'd anything.... But should have said nothing, or released an official statement. Â He needs to grow up..
Haza
Doesn't anyone feel sorry for Kylmakorpi ? He committed to wolves in March only to be dumped because Woffinden league seasons in other countries are all but over yet a rider that committed from meeting one is out of work how is that right ?

Unfortunately, it's very much "a dog eat dog" world..  No, don't feel sorry for the guy, he probably new that this was gonna happen at some stage this season. Especially when TW's team/s missed out on the play-offs....  I think most riders ride with the knowledge that they could get dropped like a hat, especially if off form or returning from injury..  Although I do have a little empathy for him.. Hope he gets fixed up for remainder of season....

Any club would have made the same move if the chance came up. The guy knows it's a business decision. It's unfortunate of course. jeffster
I feel fo him, the guy carnt win. We had another thread about should Tai ride for team GB... There was lots of speedway fans of the same opinion saying NO he shouldn't beacuse he didn;t ride in the british final, some practic he didn't attend etc. Â He has now put something up on twitter about Team GB, and that he may for whatever reason walked away from it. He is not right in doing that now either................. Â He carnt do right for doing wrong....... Â Keep strong Tai... Â British World Speedway Champion......... Â Â Agree with this. Â WHATEVER he does, he gets hammered ! Â Never a truer word in " you cant please all of the people all of the time !"

hyderd
on his web site he says he's taking 1 year out due to issues behind the scene that he doesn't want to share in public, he wishes Team GB well and says he may be back in 2018 when he sees where we are. He also says he is proud to represent Gt Britain in the GP series and will not be looking to switch nationalities to ride for the Aussies. So in short thank you BSPA for alienating our best rider because of your snobbish attitude to Team GB.

You know the season he rode for Wolves apart from an injury break? I know how committed he has been to speedway and Wolves this year that isn't at question. It's still a no brainer move that I for once applaud the management for making.

stevebrum
If he doesn't say what the reason is how can you judge who is at fault?! The more likely scenario was Tai saying he was off if they didn't implement his 5 year plan. That's my guess anyway! It's clear where the fault lies. Tai has very clear plans what is required to help the GB generation. If anyone knows he does, he is living proof. As a governing body you would have to be completely barmy to not follow the plans and ideas as it's clearly an advantage to implement the plans of a man at the very top of his game. To try and penny pinch and NOT utilise our world champion as a mentor is beyond crazy. Â Some may say Tai is out of order and throwing his toys out the pram because he isn't getting his way , I mean really?? Â He doesn't need to do any of it. He has offered to help the governing body because he is the expert. Â What does HE gain out of it?? Nothing. What GB will get from it are riders who are empowered to know what it takes to reach that level. Win win for GB, and Tai gets the chance to lead his nation to victory. The only reason we got 2nd and reached race offs in the recent past is Tai. Without him we would struggle to even qualify. Â We NEED Tai, and Tai needs a team capable of winning. We need him far more than he needs to waste his time banging his head against the proverbial wall. Â The BSPA haven't listened to riders in the past 15 years or more, high profile British have withdrawn from GB in the past (Nicholls, Richardson) and it's clear they don't want to listen or invest for its future, Â However it's different now, or it should be. When you have a BRITISH world champion telling you all you need to make a difference you listen, then you act. Â Those who find Tai at fault - you must be happy to know that with him out the side we will likely struggle to even qualify in future. Â Lay the blame where it belongs. Tai is NOT at fault. The governing body doesn't care enough about its national side.
colin wood
The problem is we don't know what Tai is asking for. What exactly is his 5year plan? Its all got to be made public before we can judge who's at fault.

What we know is he KNOWS what it takes to succeed so ANY assistance he can give has to be listened to. How can anyone say Tai is to blame when all he is trying to do is make team GB stronger?  Seriously. It's time to take the blinkers off people.  If course it's helpful to know and see the plans, but is there a suggestion those plans are no good?? They have really held back our double world champ I guess!

Tai who is proud to ride for his country and wants it to progress or a governing body and so called mouth piece who have failed to deliver what's been required for 15 years or more?? Â If it was all in place I see no logical reason why Tai would now choose to walk away. It defies any logic!

It defies any logic!  So you think Rosco was lying live on TV  BTW he didn't say it was ALL in place and neither did I I remember him saying something else I think along the lines that some things that Tai wanted are simply not possible but I could be wrong and that could have been on the EDP podcast  As for walking away now. It's obvious that GB will not be seeded to the final in 2017 and will have to qualify and possibly not make it so Tai would gain no benefit from competing. The same probably applies to 2018 as well so maybe that's the logic for him walking away now. Who knows Edited August 17, 2016 by Star Lady

Tai has gained no benefit from competing in every year he has previously completed so it's nothing new. Clearly something has happened (or not likely to happen) to prompt this sudden announcement. Maybe that may become clear in the near future.
