Blackadder
Rohan Tungate shut off early in his next ride as well, and was told by the Referee to stop doing it. A good meeting, well done to both teams.

4thbender
Another good meeting with some cracking racing. Hope JG and CW are ok - presume that the latter will be out for 8 days if he was withdrawn with concussion. Hat off to Arthur for heat 14, awesome ride to keep second place. Frustrating that we know he can do that, but hasn't done it all season. Steady at his imperious best, Garrity had an ok night by his standards, Bates rode better than his score suggested, just not Howarths night, Berge was Berge, another solid showing and Greaves... Unlucky to not get a point when he decided to shut off rather than to ram Tungate but other than that was just off the pace. Talking of Tungate, did he purposefully shut off to block Greaves or was it a fortunate consequence of him doing something which was arguably dangerous? Notable that Arthur only started scoring points when he took to the outside of the track. Will he have the nerve to maintain this new-found skill? Cue Ball
We were saying last night that he has been using the outside on turns 3/4 for a while, but it never seems to get him anywhere - goes into 3 looking faster than the guys in front, but always comes out of 4 behind them still
Halifaxtiger
Another good meeting with some cracking racing. Sadly, I don't agree. There were one or maybe two decent races but the rest were from the gate. Admittedly I don't go every week but I am wondering just why this season - and possibly for a couple of seasons - Sheffield simply isn't the very decent racing track that we all know it can be. They have the same trackman as Scunthorpe, yet the quality of the speedway is light years away. What's going wrong ? Interesting article in the programme about intervals with the only thing missing being why we have them at all when neither fans nor riders want them. spin king
Sadly, I don't agree. There were one or maybe two decent races but the rest were from the gate. Admittedly I don't go every week but I am wondering just why this season - and possibly for a couple of seasons - Sheffield simply isn't the very decent racing track that we all know it can be. (1) They have the same trackman as Scunthorpe, yet the quality of the speedway is light years away. What's going wrong ? (2) Interesting article in the programme about intervals with the only thing missing being why we have them at all when neither fans nor riders want them. (1) Could well be down to access to the track the stadium is very much used by the greyhound people who own the stadium, part from the evening meetings they also have meetings in the afternoon during the week, this is something that has happened over the last 4 to 5 years. At Scunthorpe they will have 24/7 access. (2) Maybe the clue is in the article, which says stadium owners like the interval later, I would guess that its down to the Stadium owners insist on an interval unless in extreme cases like weather or a rider having an accident. Its far more easy if you own your own stadium than when you are working within what the stadium owners want and will allow you to do. Maybe the answer is that we move to a purpose built stadium and move out of Owlerton, but we all know how difficult that can be. Maybe the answer is that we move out of Owlerton and
