slyfox
After impressing in the recent Julie Lewis Memorial meeting Redcar have signed Jye Etheridge to replace Simon Neilsen (who says he is taking a rest from British Speedway & continue riding in Denmark)
TheScotsman
Excellent. Really pleased for the lad and hope he makes a great go of it.

customhouseregular
Is he related to the old Hackney rider Laurie Etheridge?
SCB
It would have probably made more sense to roll out Brian Havelock! What an utterly pointless signing and one that just helps slowly kill British Speedway.
foamfence
Should have brought back Branford.

TheScotsman
I hope Jye shows up all the naysayers and proves he can hack it over here!! Hardly had a chance to settle let alone prove himself.

damosuzuki
Give the kid a break ffs. There are a number of good British riders coming through, he's not stopping them.
TheScotsman
After Jye's first 8 League and League Cup meetings, he was scoring on a par with Dan Bewley. Jye - 30 rides - 7 points - 3 bonus. Dan - 27 rides - 7 points - 0 bonus. (Dan missed the home meeting against Glasgow) Dan's scoring took off just after then. Jye's couldn't. So all a bit early to judge Jye as a flop especially when he had 3 home matches rained off in that time.

Gazc
Edinburgh clearly decided he was a flop Think Campbell described him as the worst overseas newcomer ever, must be bad take it he never saw Jayden O Malley then. screm
Whilst its hardly the signing that will shake the speedway World, I think Etheridge deserves a break and hopefully for him and Redcar he will do a decent job between now and the end of the season.

screm
Berwick's had a few as well, big Benny and Michael Hertrich to name but a few I would put Johanson and Hertrich in the category below Ethridge, amazing but true.
Shadders
Peter Karger, currently on a 1.54 average with one race win from 44 attempts, unbelievably beating Sam Masters!
TheScotsman
JC was pretty harsh. Etheridge has had good results in Oz. Peter Karger, currently on a 1.54 average with one race win from 44 attempts, unbelievably beating Sam Masters! And did it comfortably!
