Joe Beevers
Tough too say unlike the Premier League who barring injuries look like it will go to Somerset. Poole have this winning mentality at the end of seasons of when the chips are down, they just seem to find extra gears. If there full team all click then they could be favourite but they are an unknown quality on the Belle Vue track so hard to judge. Belle Vue look reasonably strong at home and good away. They have riders for nearly all tracks but for me, still a question mark over if they can produce the latter season consistency. Wolves are dark horses. I am not sure if they have strength in depth to match the top two but if they improve on their home hammerings, they will be really difficult to beat on aggregate over two legs. Swindon are an outside chance. Good riders who will all need to fire but they are capable and having a few Somerset riders riding with confidence will certainly help their chances. I can't see anyone else making the top four but I am happy for Lakeside to prove me wrong.
solrac
The most deserving winners will be the team that wins the title. The poll shows Belle Vue as overwhelming favourites. Most fans expect Belle Vue to win the league, with Poole a distant second. So will Belle Vue choke like they did in 2015 or will they live up to their label as favourites? If it is a Poole V Belle Vue final, which as yet is far from certain, I certainly fancy Poole's chances of winning. Belle Vue have made a howler in running scared of Poole so much that they kept putting off the postponed meeting from the start of the season! It is now taking place a week before playoffs. So Poole will be there at the end of August, 12 days later and then a couple of weeks after that if we make the final. What were Belle Vue thinking? Utter madness on their behalf and it gives two meetings for our team of racers to get dialled in and show what they can do. Baring any late season injuries Pirates I believe Poole will prove to be too strong when it matters. There's no pressure on us being the underdogs. Running scared? You do shoot yourself in the foot sometimes with guff like that .

foreverblue
Hardly call him a racer because he caught up with Roynon who is a draft rider. He got 3rd not second as he was unable to pass Bates. 😂 http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/15837/coventry-poole-el-15-2016 Would hardly call Pedersen a racer. He's always been one of the most boring riders to watch. In the 2 meetings I've watched Poole in at Brandon this year, I would say you have more gaters than racers this year. Hans struggles to pass without riding dirty nowadays. It's only really Holder & at times Buzz who I would call real racers. To pass an opposing rider off 15 metres is a great effort, Hans may not have been good at Brandon but stiil can race and pass without being dirty. Gavan
And I could have sworn I saw Hans racing hard last night in the SEC and at Poole last Wednesday. Bjarne has done a hell of a job for us. To say Poole don't have a team of racers is ridiculous. Holder, Buckowski, ellis, Kurtz, Newman don't know when to give up and both Bjarne and Andersen can be meeting winners on their day. Being underdogs to Belle Vue means we can go into the playoffs with no pressure on us but this team, as with all Poole teams, puts pressure and expectations on itself to win when it matters. Belle Vue as a club can this season feel what its like to be clear favourites. And we will see if they can live up to expectations of wearing that mantle. lol!! What about Ellis? What about Newman? What about Kurtz? This Poole team is full of exciting racers. Not gating tarts like King. priceless!! Underdogs lol!! Go check with the bookies you are odds on favourites for a reason. You have the best team simple. Belle Vue are the underdogs. What an amazing achievement it would be for a team with no home advantage to beat the odds on favourites. And do you watch any other teams apart from Poole?? King a gating tart lol he can't gate for toffee and does most of his points from the back!! LisaColette
spot on. That side with Holder, Andersen and Buck as heat leader, an aussie champion at reserve, along with experiance of Watt and now Pedersen, added in with a reserve that has been their for 6 years in Newman and the British Under 21 third place rider they should have walked this league this season as almost all pundits said. Belle Vue with a lack of home track advantage have performed wonders to be top of the league and they would be the most deserving winners Lol. :D If you win it then you obviously deserve it! wolves could tempt tai back for the playoffs , they wud be up there with the favoritesBut he won't so not even an issue, more likely to get Dudek tbh. priceless!! stevebrum
wolves could tempt tai back for the playoffs , they wud be up there with the favorites Any team could tempt Tai back however he won't because he isn't interested. I'd be slightly disappointed if we did bring Tai back and kick out a rider that has shown commitment ALL season long. Being ruthless may win you trophies I guess but that would be a tough call.

hyderd
Any team that could have B Pedersen or H Anderson at reserve for the final are favourites IMHO, For me Belle Vue will be in the top 4 maybe even top but our track has proven what a great racing track it is as shown by Leicester, so I wouldn't put money on them winning a 2 leg meeting as important as the P/Off's. I can see a Poole Wolves final with Poole winning over the 2 legs.

Not sure what meetings you watch? Obviously not the British Final SWC or the GP? He does most of his racing from the back less so at premier league level as he makes the gate more against lesser riders. Ask the Coventry fans!! King just a gater is a laughable statement

Steve0
Why would you be p'd off if you were a Poole fan and didn't win? Sometimes you can look good on paper and it doesn't work as well on track. One example, Darcy said Coventry would be third and look where they are! Coventry were never going to finish third after they signed Woryna when they had more points to spare
waiheke1
Poole clear favorites. Aces may have been the best side so far this season, but suspect the lack of home advantage and Jacobs at 7 are the weaknesses. Top 3 of both sides comparable. Frick and s worrall pretty similar to Kurtz and bjarne. R worrall and Newman reasonably even. But Ellis clearly stronger than Jacobs. Wolves are an odd one clearly the seasons overachievers, and capable of beating aces and/or Poole over two legs. Heart says aces, head says Poole

Crazy robin
A thread clearly done so people would not say Poole & then Steve would say Belle Vue are favourites. You got to laugh really as he's the only person who takes him seriously😀😀

Somerset haven't been to Glasgow yet. We WILL beat them up here - and then it's play off's, so it's far from Somerset's league ! Apologies for hijacking the thread but had to. Belle Vue are a top team with a top track to race on, they have no less home advantage than Poole, if as expected its a B Vue v Poole final, all the Belle Vue riders are very good at Poole and i would expect a good battle tbh wouldn't be surprised to see Poole winning at the NSS and Bele Vue at Wimbourne Road.
