Aces51
Riders gain confidence riding at reserve so if he rode in the main team he may not have scored as many as you say. The fact he didnt replace the other reserve in one race may have been because Swindon were winning or the other reserve was riding well too or Rosco is stupid! In recent years i dont remember plays offs ridden in the rain but there have been meetings called off. Hopefully none will be ridden in the rain as it detracts from the racing. The play offs are fantastic comment was tongue in cheek although as you know i love the play offs. Hans scored 13 last time if Nicholls scores that i will be amazed. But Hans has been off form lately so very unlikely he would score anything like 13 this time. I would have thought 6 or 7 more realistic. However, Scott is having well documented engine problems at the moment, he thinks things are improving but still doesn't think he has solved it completely. Nonetheless, it's good to see that Matt has confidence in him to do the job in such a vital fixture. Unusual for Matt to choose a Brit. Yes that is true, dont they all blame the bike when things are going badly? Matt has nothing against Brits just picks the best available which would probably have to be Scott. stevebrum
That'll be another whoosh then, lol! Eh? Of course it's a knockout cup bit, just because it's called the play offs doesn't change the format of the competition does it? It isn't a knockout cup bit at all where teams knock each other out to progress. Teams aren't knocked out, they failed to qualify from the season long league programme. only the winners of the play offs are league champions, they are crowned LEAGUE champions not cup champions. Hans scored 13 last time if Nicholls scores that i will be amazed. Nicholls scored 2 points more last time! Let's face it you never know which Hans, or Scott you are going to get from match to match such is their inconsistencies this season so if Scott has a mare (rarely does at Monmore) it's no different to the possibility that Hans would likely score 13 again. At Monmore a like for like guest.
foreverblue
Can't understand why you are struggling with this but I'll try and help. Last season Poole, Coventry, Swindon and Belle Vue qualified from the qualifiers. Got that? They qualified for the knockout cup bit, didn't they? If you're still struggling, Swindon were knocked out (get it?) by Belle Vue and.... well you know the rest. If you're still struggling then there used to be a cup competition called the ko cup and the play off format is a bit (a lot actually) like the play offs. As I said Did the knock out cup have a season long qualifying competition then? Were they called League champions Edited September 4, 2016 by foreverblue

If you're still struggling then there used to be a cup competition called the ko cup and the play off format is a bit (a lot actually) like the play offs. As I said Yea, you keep saying. And you are still wrong. You are confused with a competition they still run in the lower leagues , and used to run in the EL until the fans voted with their feet and it was withdrawn. You know, the one where teams meet each other and KNOCK each other out until we get to the big final. That's 2 meetings to decide who progresses to the next stage and who gets KNOCKED OUT (there it is again). Now, here we have a season long league programme to qualify for the right to be crowned league champions. Nobody gets knocked out although only the teams who lose over 2 leagues in the play off semis could be termed as knocked out (no cup involved tho) but the difference is that whilst the (knockout) cup isn't wanted or supported by EL supporters anymore the play offs are played out to some of the biggest crowds of the season. The play offs are simply an extension of the league programme. No cup element involved. No, I know you won't get it. Keep trying to convince me and others it's the same thing, here is a clue. It isn't. Hope that helps.
foreverblue
No? What's that got to do with the price of fish? Haddock or Plaice? you said If you're still struggling then there used to be a cup competition called the ko cup and the play off format is a bit (a lot actually) like the play offs. And you called it play offs!!

stevebrum
You two are a cracking double act. The bit where teams are knocked out like they were in the knockout cup 'could be termed as knocked out' ha ha there's no could about it, they are actually knocked out! No cup element involved? Of course the play offs are an extension of the league but in a knockout cup format and you are just going to have to trust me on this, there 100% is a cup element involved, its given to the winners HA HA HA HA! Have you fallen off your jackanory speedway bike and banged your head, lol! Come on, own up, who told fb I called the knockout cup 'play offs!!'? you keep saying, and you are wrong. Still its good for a laugh. More chance of me falling off my bike (you have already been told by others that I do amateur speedway yet you fail to grasp the basics) than your conversation with Tai and Sam happening that's for sure. But no I haven't fallen off in a few months thanks for asking. you haven't been to Stoke for proof have you tho. Hahahahaha Ugh, let him call it the knockout cup. Who cares.. He can call it what he wants, no one believes his jackanory fable anyway.
stevebrum
Do you make brum brum engine noises (I see where the 'brum' bit of your username comes from now, ha ha) when you are doing your jackanory speedway? I can't think of another sport or competition which has a league phase followed by a knockout phase that anyone argues that the knockout phase shouldn't be referred to as knockout as it's just an extension of the league programme? Also, there does seem to be some confusion over what is clearly a metaphor and the title of a competition. We know where the confusion lies, no one refers to the play offs as a knockout cup competition for very good reason. Think we can put that to bed. As explained, you have every chance to come and prove my (amateur) speedway rider bit wrong but you lack the back up. A bit like the majority of your posts. Happy to provide you with dates/places but I know you would rather continue with the jackanory line that was lost the minute I was backed up. Just say if you fancy watching some amateur racing , I will be the one in the kings Lynn kevlars and red livery (ex Jason Lyons bike). Ask your mates Tai and Sam to come as well. Hahaha
foreverblue
So the knockout (because teams are knocked out) cup (because the winners get a cup) BIT. The knockout cup is apparently something else, lol! Just realised, it must have been you who told fb I'd called the 'play offs!!' the knockout cup, tut tut. Haha you said the knockout cup was like the playoffs. Funny because i didnt think playoffs was in your vocabulary! Dont know why you keep up this stupid jackanory insults to Stevebrum as it has been proved he rides speedway bikes.
B.V 72
I would like us to change the way 2 teams progress to the final to the same way they use in the Swedish league.Which is a far better way in my opinion. The top 4 teams enter into a mini league where all 4 teams meet each other home and away and the 2 teams who top the mini league then meet in a 2 leg final which decides which team are champions. I think this is a much fairer way as every team is involved. They all meet each other home and away and it keeps the league theme going instead of it turning into a knockout cup type competition.Plus there are more meetings in the play off process for the fans to watch and more meetings that should attrack good crowds bringing more money into the sport which should make the promoters happy.
Phil The Ace
Maybe top place should go straight to the final and the next 4 teams battle for a spot in the final.
B.V 72
Maybe top place should go straight to the final and the next 4 teams battle for a spot in the final. Missed revenue then for the top team having only one meeting.Which in truth money is what the play offs are all about.
stevebrum
Dont know why you keep up this stupid jackanory insults to Stevebrum as it has been proved he rides speedway bikes. I guess some people really do want to come across as quite a bit silly. I'd like to be able to take the credit for using 'jackanory' in a derogatory manner but I'm a full lap behind the fantasy speedway rider on that one I'm afraid. Not sure what your definition of proved is but just getting an 'uncle' to back up a point on an internet forum doesn't prove anything does it?I see you are still calling me brum even tho I specifically said I find it a derogatory attack so still a huge hypocrite. Just to clarify I said only you don't have permission to call me that yet you continue to do so. Carry on the fantasy line, but I think most people are starting to feel a little embarrassed for you now and understandably. Rugby League, my other favourite sport, has play offs after completion of fixtures mainly as a cash collection excercise. This is a complete nonsense as the team which finishes top of the league are the champions end of

sparkafag
Not anymore, your traffic warden 'uncle' reported it so wibble can't make you wobble any more than you already do on your jackanory speedway bike. Talking of your 'uncle' you do know he will be reporting you for breaking forum rules again you naughty boy. The only person who has actually claimed to live in his own 'my real world' on here is you, complete with fantasy speedway! Ha ha! Do you never stop for a second and think about the people who have to read this shi te and don't care a jot about it.
