allthegearbutnaeidea
David isn't always available at weekends. Which was a reason he has opted to be loaned to Thursday circuits....... thought he only missed meetings when at the european U21's when he was with us? boz
I'll get my grumbles out the way first. Why start 15 minutes late with the weather looking like it was. I can understand wanting to get the Ben Fund collection in (where no riders made it to us on second bend!), but in the circumstances could have been done better. Then to have an interval after heat 10 smacked of we have got the required number of heats out the way, we don't care. Did not agree with that at all. On to the meeting I thought the Bears were excellent, but slightly disappointed with some of the Bandits. Doolan and Pijper normally go well here but struggled tonight. Thought TJ gave it everything as always and was impressed with Gappmeir at reserve. Bears top 5 for me were all excellent. Bellego has been a different class this season and his pass of TJ in heat 6 was superb. And if only we had started the season with Busch. Alongside Bellego I would be getting their signatures sorted for next year. Bjerre was a bit hit and miss, but Jonas was quick and arguably Skidmores best performance this season. Slight concerns at reserve for me though. I think Nielsen is a tad unlucky, in that all his big scores seem to be away from home. Payne battled hard tonight for little reward and though he was unlucky to be replaced in his fina lride.
topsoil
Really disappointing result tonight, especially with one of our assets scoring so heavily against us. Looks like the captain is on his "donkey" again, in a bad run of form at the moment. Redcar must be wishing the season started in July! Too many inconsistencies in our team right now. Going to be a tough couple of days now with the long journey to Plymouth, then a massive first leg of the cup on Saturday night, to try and keep the season alive. Halifaxtiger
An interval when it's raining? Can someone explain please Personally I think there should never be an interval whatever the weather. Never met a fan who likes them and apparently the riders don't either. Tonight was just ridiculous, though. Black clouds were there from the start so there was at the very least a possibility of rain. Referee Graham Flint got things moving, though, and after 50 minutes we had had 10 heats. Then the promotion decided to have an interval despite the rain that had come down and was very likely to come down again Had that not happened, the meeting would have been completed (thanks largely to Mr Flint) - as it was it was abandoned and we all got wet. For the reasoning, I'd have to agree with Boz's view above. Edited August 4, 2016 by Halifaxtiger

Halifaxtiger
It saves the promotion paying out points money for the last couple of heats That did occur to me and I suspect to many others. Last week, they said there was to be no parade as there was a junior meeting after the main event. First heat took 30 minutes but we still had an interval. Its as though they are compulsory when it is clear that one of the highest priorities for speedway fans is no unnecessary delays.

Steady drizzle from just before the start and through the entire meeting which took an hour and 5 minutes to complete. As soon as heat 15 finished the heavens really opened. No parade, no interval. I didn't feel cheated, I saw 15 heats of speedway

screm
Could someone also explain Kevin Doolan's performance, shocking from a former Redcar rider. Doolan isn't a PL No1, it is only the lack of points from others than have seen him there, he is a very reliable 2nd or 3rd heat leader. After that performance the team manager says there are positives WHERE ? after bumping up their chances in newsletter must be hugely disappointing and agree about Kevs donkey maybe some are thinking about next year aiready Only the KOC that is keeping our season alive now.
Bear_Bottom
Superb bit of team riding from Pijper and Wethers to keep Bjeere(!) at the back in ht 7
topsoil
Agree with Screm above, Kevin Doolan isn't a number one and is more a backup heat leader / second string who, like last season, has been forced into the number one position. For most of the season he has been a good captain and rider, but lately his form has dropped. Hopefully he can sort whatever problems he's had out soon. allthegearbutnaeidea
Doesn't matter where you ride you should always be looking to ride to your average, he may of had the number 1 jacket on but he got beat off Simon Nielsen whilst on the tactical ride and picked up 2 points from 4 rides, these 2 points was from beating Dawid who in the end scored more points than him anyways. He's been really good for us usually but seems to have let us down big time, it's not as if it's a new track to him
