Good commentators "commentate" through exciting things happening and amend their tone and volume accordingly. Pearson just resorts to making inane demented monkey noises whenever two riders get close to each other.

He is NOT a good commentator.

He is NOT a good commentator.

He does the same when he covers darts, because speedway is a Pearson shutout we don't have much to compare him to.

At the darts in my opinion, of the newcomers Stuart Pike and Rod Studd are better commentators .

IMO they do need to understand that shouting Ohhhhhh every time sometimes even mildly exciting happens annoys at least half their audience.

What you mean to say is it annoys you... as you have no evidence at all to suggest it annoys 'at least half' of their audience.

Think they have got better every year. Make dull races sound exciting and exciting races sound like nothing could be better.

As they have relaxed into the job they can now take the P out of each other with us listeners chuckling with them.

Long may they conitinue in the roll.
