Coventry Bees V Leicester Lions 5/8/2016

Recommended Posts

So it's the M69 derby this Friday at Brandon. Don't think KK will be available as the SEC is on Saturday in Latvia and it's not exactly the easiest place to get to. Would be PL 6Pt rider replacing him if he is missing. That would make the meeting very tight.

TEAM UPDATE - BEES v LEICESTER

Wednesday August 03, 2016

COVENTRY hope to return to full strength for Friday's Elite League clash with Leicester at Brandon.

Jason Garrity is expected to make his return from injury for Sheffield in the Premier League on Thursday, and assuming he comes through with no ill effects he will be back for the Buildbase Bees against the Lions.

If Jason does still need further time to recover, squad member Ben Barker will once again come into replace him.

We are also pleased to confirm Krzysztof Kasprzak will line up as usual at No.1 on Friday.

KK is competing in the Speedway Euro Championships, with the second round of that series taking place in Latvia on Saturday.

This rules him out of the return fixture at Beaumont Park, and the SEC competition does not carry a guest facility.

The club has taken the decision, with the current league situation also in mind, that they will not be taking a facility at Leicester on Saturday which would automatically trigger a 28-day ban for KK.

We would rather have him racing in as many matches as possible, especially at home, after a season when he has been an excellent No.1 and has returned to prominence on the international stage, including winning World Cup gold last weekend.

Brilliant from to hear Kaspazak is racing and fingers crossed all is well with Garrity and we get to see him back. He's been a loss.

Now we know we are back next year (what a relief) I hope Kaspazak is already being asked to return again next season.

I'd like to see some talented youngsters being looked at too. We need a rider like a Fricke which all supporters could get behind and follow.

I'm hoping Fricke is a Bee next season.

Should really get a comfortable win now KK is riding.

Why would Fricke leave BV though? Better prepared track and better team manager. Only get him if BV couldn't fit him imo.

Lives in Coventry, main sponsor from Coventry, almost joined Coventry this season, at Coventry regularly for Bees and Storm meetings. Wouldn't surprise me to see Fricke at Brandon next year.

I'd be surprised if Fricke wanted to leave BV esp with the setup they have there.

Depends if Horton can afford him

There should be more funds available now Horton is running the stadium. No excuses for next season now.

Riders will move anywhere if the money is right

Especially when your sponsor was/is seemingly keen. He may stay at BV but we shall see.

When was the last meeting we had a full team? Been a while!
