iris123
Think our member Bavarian asked the question on the german forum,"Is Austrian speedway dead?" this year.Seems the speedway season consists of just 1 Ice Speedway meeting and 1 or 2 speedway meetings.Only found the 1 at Murek, not sure what has happened to Wiener Neustadt and St.Johann..... proud panther
Surely there must be somebody better who doesn't need air fares paying ? Thought the Scorpions were skint.

coomie
Josh and Rohan need extra praise for the win today, well done rebels,(is Jake trying to get back to reserve already!).
Najjer
Josh and Rohan need extra praise for the win today, well done rebels,(is Jake trying to get back to reserve already!). Jake and Bradley have recieved masses of praise as the main contributions to our success this season, but it's Rohan who has been the real star for me. Nobody could of predicted after going stale at Ipswich the amount of match winning performances he's had for us. He is stupidly quick at the OTA and banging in really impressive performances on the road. Â 'Mon the Rebels!
Albert
Quality meeting, shame the Scorpions couldn't hang on for the win.. but fair play to Somerset on a fine comeback... I do think that's one we threw away to be honest. Â If only the real Auty and Douglas had turned up!.. Both well below their best today, consistently lost the first bend battle. Â Have to say I was expecting a row of 0's from the boy Fritz.. but fair play, he wasn't that bad. He entertained and worked his socks off for his paid four points. Whether RR would've yielded more we'll never know. Â Some fantastic racing... and considering the warm and windy weather, the track was brilliantly prepared with little or no dust to speak of. Congrats to Somerset, they did what they do best.....and that's win PL meetings.
Fromafar
I remember Edinburgh signing an Austrian Champion back in the sixties. Alfred Sitzwohl. He was in his thirties too. Not a resounding success. Rode 1 meeting and was never seen again. Died a year or two back. I actually have a picture of him in his Monarchs racjacket. The Austrian" milkman"

Come on Najjer it is tough to single any one of the Rebels out this year, they have all been superb!! Â I do agree that Rohan has been superb on a track (I think i am right in saying?) he admitted to not liking at the press launch day. Despite those great performances he still can't get the no 1 racejacket off Josh which shows how good he has been too! And then you have the engine room of Wright and Starke, The Oak Tree Arena would be a much duller place if those two weren't in Rebels colours each week! Possibly only Zach hasn't hit the heights yet but he will get there when he is fit again.

Absolutely - my post wasn't intended as a criticism of any of the other riders, just extra praise for Rohan.
KIRKYLANE
Forget the scoreline , this was a fantastic night of racing from both sides. Â Best league match that I have seen in a long time..... In any division.

Never seen anyone ride the inside line as well as him around Somerset. We're lucky we've got a pretty good team to watch week in, week out. You can't say we haven't been entertained by this side at the OTA this year, some of the racing has been top class. eric i
Well done to Somerset they deserved the win as I think a couple of ref decisions went Scunny's way. I am a little disappointed Wilko didn't take Bailey's and Wallner's 4 ride, I know you have to give them a chance but Scunny are desperate for a win.

Sidney the robin
Made a visit to the Wright raceway what a meeting one of the best meetings i have seen for a long long time.Scunny were very good put it up to a superb Somerset side this side will take some beating. For Scunny Auty/Douglas rode there balls off tried hard but often come second best in the first bend drama.Kerr,Toft Wilko,we're great value and god i was well impressed with young Bailey looks a long term prospect style wise reminds me of a young Loram.Somerset so solid as a team even Shuttleworth was unlucky mixed it well a great days racing the track is superb produces great racing. ScunnyDan
Brilliant meeting. Couldn't fault any rider, Fritz the Blitz impressed me and many of the Scorpions locals. If Josh and Ryan has been on form, who knows what the result would have been. Well done to Somerset on their what 13th (?) league win on the bounce, which team will stop these pesky Rebels?
