Workington V Newcastle Pl 6/8/16 7pm

Recommended Posts

These meetings are usually pretty close and I'm sure this will be no exception as both sides look to push for the play off places.

Comets - Wells, Campton, Hansen, Jensen, Vissing, Roynon, Williamson

Diamonds - Lambert, Palovaara, Kus, Lindgren, Worrall, Rose, Phillips

Should be a close meeting.I think it was mentioned on Sunday at Newcastle that it is£ 10 adult entry to this meeting, what a fine gesture& hope the favour is returned.I am missing this one as it is me&my brother& sister trip up to Belford in the afternoon to remember my parents.Hope it is a safe& enjoyable night.

Yeah at £10.00 watching a speedway match is good value entertainment but the £15/£16 admission is too much for some people who are obviously staying away. Well done Workington we fans salute you and hope your weeking attendance goes up a notch as a result. £20.00 probably coming your way from me and my daughter. We haven't travelled over for a few seasons. Both teams have very entertaining riders so hopefully a big crowd will see many great heats. The only problem for Workington will be if Newcastle can track their full side, if so Newcastle to win a close match

Be nice to lay the bogey down of Workington as we never seem to win there - same with Scunthorpe also. If LL, MK, VP and LR have decent meetings we may have a chance - hopefully get at least a point.

Seeing that both teams are full strength I'll probably make the trip to watch this. If nothing else it will be a test of the car after having both turbo's and the camshaft replaced.....

it sounds like it has the fuel economy of a jumbo jet !

If we can contain the Comets over the first 5-6 heats I think we may be in with a chance of the win. In the League Cup we let them pull out a decent lead over those heats and we never really recovered. Should be a good meeting and hoping for a Diamonds win!! :t::t:

im sure he will be running a different set up after all he managed ove 3 laps last before realising he hadnt switched his fuel on according to 1 fan

if he went that far on a carb full it must have been very lean

You should do better than listen to tittle tattle on the forum, it's often highly exaggerated to make a point. As you obivously weren't there, perhaps a decorous silence might be the next best thing. To quote "It is best to be though a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

Not too bad, get around 500 miles out of the tank. I think it's only £1 for children as well :)

how big is the tank er ?

scarra not there.. .he must have been dead that night . scarra is one of motor sports biggest followers . only miss speedway to go to the I.O.M. time trials .if he wasn't there , it was a brilliant lookalike i was stood next to and having deep conversation with .L.O.L.

obviously he wasn't there .NOT.

but its just craic .

3 laps on a carbie full of fuel . next thing he will find sponges in his fuel tank !

you are correct in your wording -- it is best to be thought a fool , than open your mouth and remove all doubt . --------- wise words .

Been over to Workington a lot of times and as I am becoming an OAP I would like a seat in the main stand. In the past I have stood with the diamonds fans on the back straight ok if you are not decrepit like me

So how do I get a couple of seats in the stand and where is best place to park me jalopy

You can get to the grandstand through any of the turnstiles, there is no extra charge for it. There are 2 turnstiles near the grandstand or 2 onto turns 1&2. The stadium parking is £1.50 and there is parking around by Tesco on the grass or side street. We were fortunate enough to fill the car park last week with 25 mins to go so hopefully it will be just as busy again!

I'm assuming you were drunk when you wrote this. Quite why you keep quoting three laps is beyond me when it wasn't anywhere near that.
