stevebrum
As expected a comfortable home win. Wright scored to Pedersen's average so not too weakened. Wolves on the other hand had a dreadful replacement. Good to hear a good crowd in to watch one of their play off rivals.

Wolves on the other hand had a dreadful replacement. Good to hear a good crowd in to watch one of their play off rivals. And saw a Wolves fan stay for the whole of the Darcy Ward talk which didn't finish til 10.45 so fair play to them for that! Â Wolves kept Poole honest til heat 11 though. Score line prob flatters us a tiny bit, but Masters looked good for the most part and Howarth doing better than I've seen when Wolves have been on tv. Â Think I would have given ROTN to Holder though.
foreverblue
Â Meanwhile, back on Planet Earth. it was fair comment we should have been vunerable but Wolves were not up to taking advantage. You were the one only a couple of weeks ago telling us how wobbly Pedersen was and how having him at reserve didn't strengthen you against Coventry as he wasn't in good form and that's how he had dropped his average so low. You need to make up your mind. Â You have got a rider guesting who has the same average. Wright spent several weeks riding well in the main team so didn't just get his average at reserve. Wright is not a bad guest but Pedersen is flying at reserve as you may have noticed at Brandon.
Steve Shovlar
An entertaining meeting tonight played out in front of a large crowd. Racing was very good with some hard tussles. Some daredevil passing maneouvres and the right result in the end. Â Both teams weaker through the loss of Kylmakorpi and Bjarne, so pretty much evened itself out. Â For Poole. Holder was good value. Must have been frustrated with Hans in one heat when Masters gated. Both Poole riders were climbing all over him but every time Holder went to swoop around the outside Hans back wheel got in the way. Â Newman excellent. First heat missed the start but had some superb and hard battles. Always in the mix. Â Buckowski started slow but got better as the night went on. Â Kurtz night went the other way. After a great first win he made errors which cost him positions. Â Hans is looking like a journeyman. Just pick up points along the way and don't take risks. Said he was not happy with his performance but we have seen similar all season. Â Wright did a job. Didn't let himself or the team down. Â Ellis motm. Spectacular racing and passing. Made one silly error allowing Thorsell through after he had done all the hard work. Improving by the week. Big future in this sport imo. Â Wolves. Lindgren was mostly very good and an improvement on recent visits. Pk did a job of no last places. Masters started well but faded. Thorsell was ok Schlein was poor. Only scored by forcing Newman to throttle off. Not the rider he once was. Clegg was out of his depth. Howarth battled. Got a massive flyer in one. Heat which should have been called back. Â So three points to Poole to shrink the gap at the top. And hopefully three more tomorrow against Leicester, when it is only a tenner to come in. adz_mft
We are down in Weymouth for a few days so thought we would catch the meeting last night.Really enjoyable 1 with some close racing.Impressed with Adam Ellis.Thought he was unlucky not to get more, probably would have if Kurtz returned the compliment of team riding instead of buggering off lol. Schlein was an odd choice of guest.Having come back from a serious injury he hasn't exactly been back to his best yet and was terrible last night. The meeting itself was run at a really decent pace.Back in the hotel by 10.15 so was pretty happy. 1 thing I wasn't that happy about was the admission prices.Charging 5-11 Year olds is absolutely criminal tbh. Can't remember going anywhere else that does it.There's no way clubs should be charging children of that age.
poole keith
the secret offer for tonites match was finally revealed £10 for adults(tho it was announced concessions would remain unaltered so as an oap will i still have to pay £14? lol)doesnt effect me personally but why didnt they do kids under 16 FREE ,just my opinion but very poor.some really good racing tonite full marks to everybody, pooles strength is obviously is in the reserve scoring, looks like it will always be ellis or newman plus one rider from the top 5 at reserve, very formidable in this league.one complaint on presentation why every week prematch do we have to have to listen to 20mins of boring, monotonous inane drivel on the centre green from nigel and some guy from peptalk, every wk jeez! a short interview with somebody worthwhile and plenty of good music(abba )
ray c
Quite agree about children prices at Poole don't encourage the next generation of speedway fan's dose it just my opinion
SteveZodiac
An entertaining meeting with some good racing - probably the best prepared Poole track I've seen for a while. Â Wolves had there usual late meeting collapse - they seemed to struggle after the track had been completely regraded during the interval. SteveLyric2
Best meeting of the season so far imo.  Holder, Newman (at 2) and Ellis - superb.  Impressed with Lindgren, looking back to almost his best; and Masters   From Monday next Newman drops back to reserve with Ellis going to 2nd string.
Tommy Sweetman
Looking now to the business end of the season, cant really see anyone knocking Belle Vue off top spot. Important who finishes 2nd,because they can have a choice if they prefer to ride their first leg home or away. Â Wolves still have 6 home matches to come(1 away at K/L),if assuming they win all their matches at Monmore, that would give them 57 points. Poole on the other hand can only get to 49 points if they win all their remaining home meetings. So realistically they need to score a futher 9 points on their travels,to overhaul Wolverhampton. Â Think the Aces would probably pick Lakeside/Swindon or whoever finishes in the final play-off spot. So that leaves Wolves to battle it out with Poole in the semi, for a place in the final. Â Home advantage is gonna play a huge part, because when both of these sides have met on their home track, the visiting team have lost by a pretty big margin. Â Still lots of ifs and buts to come of course, but its looking like an intriguing finale to the end of the season. Â Ps.Think ive got my maths right, but then again............... A win tonight and next week, then we have to win at Kings Lynn. But the main point in finishing top is to win the two away meetings at Belle Vue, which can be done. Our team of racers in Holder, Hans, Buck, Kurtz and Ellis will thrive in the wide open spaces. Bjarne and Newman no slouches either. Belle Vue have avoided re-arranging the rained off meeting so far for fear of being turned over. The battle for top spot is not over by a margin. foreverblue
Â Poole were never vulnerable with Schlein guesting for Kylmakorpi. Schlein usually goes well at Poole but is just returning from injury was a bad choice but Wolves performance wasn't all down to Kylmakorpi's injury and Schlein's poor showing. Masters went downhill after a good start and Howarth should be cleaning up at reserve but isn't.

Think we might have to look at the reserve option to if we have to travel to Wimbourne Rd again this season. Im a fan of Max Clegg, and think hes got a bright future, but that's two meetings now he been to Poole, and not registered a point.  Would probably give Ash a go now,but it would still be hard for either of them considering the strength of the Pirates reserves.
