arnieg
He's long made it known that he intends to settle over there on retirement from British racing- if he hasn't already I suspect it is only a matter of time before he becomes a naturalised New Zealander. mudflaps
Born in Milton Keynes I really don't understand how he's even eligible to ride in the New Zealand championships... let alone win it 10 times !
Gresham
Probably the same way Jason Crump was born in Bristol but chose to ride for Australia... Probably the same reason why there are a multitude of sportsmen and women, born in various Countries, but represent other Countries to whom they have relations with via relationships from their direct family. The English Cricket side was nearly all South African at one point...or so it seemed. It's normal in most sports...hence why I don't get all the Tai bashing. Some national championships are 'Open', and other closed to nationals only. Up to 1975 we allowed Aussies, Kiwis and Canadians into the British championships, but not any more. In Australia it was likewise, - Mike Broadbanks, Ken McKinlay and Ole Olsen were all past Aussie Champs. .
