SteveLyric2
I thought Neil Machin and Dave Darcy were Leicester's official co-promoters after the owner's ban?! They are still listed as such! Has something happened to change that? Edited July 27, 2016 by Skidder1
packerman
What's happening at Leicester?
Argos
So if a Speedway club owes money to any rider the official Promotor is legally liable is this correct
Lord Skid
Do you mean any Rider or every Rider? Will be paid by BSPA, but only basic rate points money and probably 10p per mile travel, anything else is down to the Promoter who agreed the deal, so basically no chance of getting all that is owed. The rates are around £35-50-100 depending on which grade of Rider you are, but that's all they have to pay, just another con trick. The rates are around £35-50-100 depending on which grade of Rider you are, but that's all they have to pay, just another con trick. So how is that a con as you put it. If a normal work establishment, if that company goes bust, it often is almost Impossible to get anything owed out of the owners. If there are saleable items, or assets, it takes a long time to get it, and that could be after other institutions ahead of the employees were paid and you would only get something if there was anything left in the kitty after they have been paid. In the case of a Speedway club going bust. Any club has to pay in a bond an agreed amount depending on what league you are in because of different pay rates. This is lodged with BSPA and in the event of the club going bust, this bond, and the sale of rider assets, goes to pay the speedway costs such as riders and other clubs. In view of the normal employment situation, how is the procedure with the BSPA a con. At least it attempts to protect the interests of others in the sport, who would/could be severely be financially affected by such a loss.
Lord Skid
Letting someone work for you,and having no intention of paying them,is conning them, pretty simple I thought.

Your original quote implies the con was the BSPA and their rate of pay.
Lord Skid
The BSPA is a big cartel, it is their Rules that make it possible to employ a Rider under contract, then have a loophole, whereby they can renage on the deal, the only option left to the Rider is to take the Promoter to Court, and try to reclaim the money owed, something the BSPA will advise the Rider to do. Leicester Lion
So, what's going/gone on at Leicester? Apart the BSPA V DH saga...?And even that has quietened down.

So you think that If Rooney has a contract agreed with ManU and the agent, in the event of default, The Premier League is responsible and should make the shortfall. Funny folks in Speedway, and not always running clubs.
