stevebrum
How much do u need for a track? Depends on size but I'd say easily 100 ton
Joe Beevers
The right shale is only available from a couple of places. 20 ton is about a grand delivered. Well shows what I know about building a stadium. So your saying it's around 5000 to shale a track if you are sure to be correct. That's crazy really. Dearer than air fences isn't it? greyhoundp
Difficult to comment from what we can see of those pics, obviously Sandhu is getting out everything thats saleable, Bars, Fixtures, Fittings etc etc, and the presence of Scrap Men doesnt bode well, i mean a lot will depend on if things are Taken out or ripped out, if they are ripped out, then that can leave behind a hell of a mess, and safety issues, as for the Scrap men well that again could mean the armcove Barriers around the Track, the Floodlight Pylons, and even the Hand rails leading to the Stands, no-one will really know until they get inside the Stadium.. all i can say is Good Luck Coventry, i somehow think you are going to need it. stevebrum
Well shows what I know about building a stadium. So your saying it's around 5000 to shale a track if you are sure to be correct. That's crazy really. Dearer than air fences isn't it? no idea if you order a certain amount that you get a better price for but can only go by figures we have for our cycle speedway track. Given our track is about 5 times smaller than an average speedway track I'm estimating naturally. Air fences about 20 grand I believe? Aren't air fences a five figure sum? And over a season how much would u need to replace out of interest? That's a difficult one that I'm not really sure of the answer too. My assumption is that some tracks will completely relay before the start of the new season and are likely to order more than the estimated 100 ton as the cost of transportation has the most cost! abbo
I'm not sure what to make of all this. Shale is a very expensive commodity but in December how much would the shale on the track be worth as a second hand item has had Speedway bikes, Stock cars bangers etc one would imagaineit would've worthless. Wet shale would cost a fortune to transport. Where did all this start some very strange photos taken over a fence. There may be substance to this item but we do read some rubbish on the forum all supposition more fairy stories than Hans Anderson produced. Mr Watson come out in the absence of MH and explain to your loyal but diminishing number of supporters exactly what if anything is happening at Brandon!! The Hans Anderson I refer to is NOT the ex Coventry rider. Edited November 26, 2016 by abbo
Woz01
Jeremy Heaver has messaged someone saying they are doing all they can so stox stay at Brandon too. Excuse me but removing essential items and lack of negotiation with the new site owners to get a lease suggest otherwise! Sold it, failed to even try and get a lease now trying to play the 'victim'. I'm sure that £2.7million helps ease their conscious. Edited November 26, 2016 by woz01
wealdstone
Must be cause for concern when despite all the speculation the Coventry promotion and BSPA maintain a deafening silence.
Grachan
Must be cause for concern when despite all the speculation the Coventry promotion and BSPA maintain a deafening silence. What else can they do if, as people are saying, Mick Horton is in America. I can't help but wonder if this is being done now deliberately now while he is away. What sort of person would agree to rent out a stadium and then, after the agreement, go in and take out all the fixtures and fittings? Imagine if you signed a tenancy on a flat and then, when you moved in, all the light fittings, electrics etc had been removed. There must be laws against that, surely. I wonder if something has gone on behind the scenes for this to happen.
Panthers89
Nobody will say anything for now as lets face it, this will be a legal matter sooner rather than later.....
wealdstone
Nobody will say anything for now as lets face it, this will be a legal matter sooner rather than later..... That's the whole point. If this was purely maintenance work or a great philanthropic gesture by the owners to improve things for the tenants and the fans, something would have been said or indeed announced before any work started

Grachan
the new owners take over in January I think that's when Horton lease starts and they are sponsored for the new season The present owners are asset stripping for some reason When you buy a house there is an inventory of fixtures and fittings that gets completed by the seller. Surely the same would apply here? Who is the current owner that is apparently asset stripping? Is it Sandhu?

They have equipment that the stadium needs so they can now ask for whatever deal they want.
