dabbsjoe
Reserve are as important now as they have ever been. Very few teams have won anything without a good reserve. Edinburgh 2015 is about the exception I can think of. they've always been important. in the old format you used to have a lot of change in a good team between the reserves and the number 2 position. I think all the playoff teams this season had some changes with a reserve / EDL rider moving into main body of the team for a while.

mdmc82
Looks like Kenneth Hansen will be a Coventry rider next season. He's just at the motorcycle show helping promote speedway. Robson was there as well over the weekend. Would prefer Hansen over Kerr or Sarjeant Edited November 22, 2016 by mdmc82

Pirates Of Poole
So Bates is back! Leaked in the Sheffield press when announcing him as a tiger!
Woz01
He'll be ok at reserve with Bates His average would mean he would be a 2nd string. Hansen average is probably a little too high to sign So Bates is back! Leaked in the Sheffield press when announcing him as a tiger! Another great signing on that average. That's two who can increase their average, a big bonus.
mdmc82
Really glad Bates is back. That leaves 27.19 for the 4 remaining riders. Hoping for Garrity and then Rory or Kylmakorpi to join them. (Fingers crossed Kerr, Sarjeant & L Bjerre aren't 3 of them. Only need 1 of them)
NeilWatson
COVENTRY are pleased to announce two more signings for the 2017 season – with Lasse Bjerre and Josh Bates now confirmed for the club. 23-year-old Bjerre is the younger brother of earlier signing Kenneth, and joins the Buildbase Bees on a 6.64 average after racing for Redcar in the Premier League this year. In previous campaigns, however, that average has been over eight and the Bees are confident in the Dane’s ability to perform for them in the new SGB Premiership. British Under-21 Champion Bates, meanwhile, returns to Brandon after an impressive debut season in Coventry colours which made him a wanted man throughout the league. And the two riders are also set to be team-mates at Championship level as Bjerre is joining Bates in the Sheffield line-up next year. Promoter Mick Horton said: “Seven of the nine clubs came in for Josh, so I feel very good about myself that he wanted to stay with us. “He came on in leaps and bounds this year and I think he’s only going to get better still. “I know Lasse wasn’t happy at Redcar last season, but he’s going to be totally committed here and I think having Kenneth around him in the same team is going to help greatly. “It went well for them the last time they rode together in the same side, and you know that with the family investment and all that goes with it they’re going to be on top equipment.” Bates and the Bjerre brothers join new captain Danny King in the Coventry line-up with three more riders to be confirmed, and those announcements are expected shortly.

Not overly fussed about L Bjerre. Seriously hope the rumoured final riders of Kerr and Sarjeant isn't true as otherwise we are just building cheaply rather than competitively. Both have gone backwards over the last couple of years and that was at reserve. Bates would move in to the main team after 1 month and we would be weak again at reserve. We need a stronger rider like JK or Rory. Very weak top 5 otherwise Edited November 23, 2016 by mdmc82
SCB
Really pleased with the team so for. The Bjerre IMO are absolute bargains and capable of improving their averages. Bates will be one of the better reserves and King is pretty solid. Keep this up and we should have a very good team.
Woz01
Lasse Bjerre another decent signing on that average. Just hope it's not ruined by sentimentality in signing Sarj on that over inflated average.

Need a stronger rider like JK if u give baby bjerre a racetrack instead of a gaters paradise he'll score big points , he's a alot better rider than his average , a very exciting rider to watch Edited November 23, 2016 by hans fan

mdmc82
Looking more like a mid table side at best. Not sure i would want both Bjerre's in my team tbh... Looking okay at the moment. If we add Garrity, Rory & Ayres or Garrity, JK & a 2pt like Perks, then it would look really good. Most 2nd reserves will only get 3 rides. However if we add Garrity, and another 2 reserve riders in Kerr & Sarjeant (as strongly rumoured) then we will be bottom of table. Good to hear 7 out of 9 clubs all wanted Bates and yet he stayed with us. 👍🏻
Dandelion
Dunno why but I can see Kenneth Hansen signing for Coventry after him sucking up to them on Twitter Or is that just me? Kenneth Hansen #333 @KennethKHansen 15h15 hours ago Great day at the @motorcyclelive for @CoventryBees. Great effort from the whole Randle family to promote Coventry and speedway in general!
