Coventry 2017

Recommended Posts

I was invited to a works awards night for long service but I had to pay for my partner for her to attend. The company I work for earn millions per year in the UK alone. Even the Christmas party this year I have to pay for myself if I wanted to go, incidentally at the same place as the Dinner and dance was.

Sounds as though they must have been using the Mick Horton manual on " How to show employees how much their efforts are valued".

To be honest I've never had an employer who pays fully for Christmas night out. My missus ex employer didn't even let partners attend!

Anyway. AGM starts tomorrow. Hopefully in a few days we can actually talk speedway/signings etc.

Be interested to see if Horton allows him to use a workshop at the stadium next season! Somehow I doubt it!!

I thought that had already been cleared out before the Stock Car World Final as they needed the space? Apologies if I'm thinking of the wrong area. Anyway, he's left now so will no doubt have to find somewhere else. Perhaps Neil Middleditch has a garage he can use.

Don't think I agree with this criticism of Harris, if I had left a company the last thing you want to do us socialise with them, especially when us fans do not know the real reason he feels he has to leave, he has been a top servant for the Bees, and I agree with him that it would have been the right thing to do for Coventry Speedway to invite him and his Partner, if only as a thank you! Poor form Coventry.

Sorry but I don't agree. The dinner/dance is mainly for the fans so whatever grievances he had with the Coventry promotion should have been put aside for that one evening.

The fact that most employers have a staff function and partners are included doesn't mean that there is no benefit to you as an employee.

Most companies settle via a PAYE Settlement Agreement so it is not reported via a P11d and charged to you via your tax code.

Harris is not an employee, so why shouldn't he fork out. No doubt he'd claim as a deduction on his tax return...

During my working life I attended many functions and conventions both with and on behalf of my employers. My wife was always included , and never once was I asked to pay for her to attend. But then again I've never worked for Mick Horton.

so have i and in 30 years in work my partner/wife has never been paid for, guess its sign of the times!

all the firms i have/do worked for are in the FTSE top 100, but i then agree about the quality of the employer!

The crux of the matter here is simple for the supporters , pick a camp .. A. I like Bomber so he's correct in his actions .. OR B. I like Horton so I will side with him . ..
