Bees_Man
I think looking towards 2017 regardless of the format Saregent needs a year away from Brandon on loan. I'd only want one of either bates or Woryna subject to them being at reserve, and Harris or King as third heat leader / second string. BANANAMAN
Could you go back to having a FIGHTING BEE on you race jackets instead of the ridiculous hornet / wasp thing that you have now ..Its the BEES !! Harris is probably one of the best 2nd heat leaders there is, King done ok 3rd heatleader but needs a number 4 to occasionally push King into 2nd string role. I'd keep if possible KK, Harris, King, Garrity and Bates.

A 3.5ish average despite getting 4+ the previous two seasons. And with the leagues apparently merging/getting closer you're going to need lots of lower rider riders. Bates, Sarj and Woryna may just be a great bottom 3 in 2017. Until we know the format it's hard to say really. But as things stand is not be getting rid of any of our 1-7 yet. Bees_Man
That sounds depressing. For me we should now look at squads with fixed one or two race nights.
Gemini
I've got a better idea. Keep the nights that work for Speedway and don't bother about riders who can't commit to a full season in the UK. Let them go chasing glory in the G.P's, Poland, Denmark, Sweden etc. and let us get back to weekly meetings rather than one every 3 weeks in the height of Summer. Premier League standard? I'm perfectly happy with that as long as there is a much bigger league and a bit more variety than just 7 other teams like it is at the moment.
Bees_Man
The elite league is propped up by double up riders from the PL as it stands. Most teams have two and meetings clash so no one sees full sides. Merging to one league or increasing the size of clubs is not going to stop guests and RR every week, if anything it would get worse. Only squads will replace that!

Means no need for doubling up any more. Gets rid of part of the problem with guests and r/r. What it also needs then is better fixture planning to avoid GP qualifiers, GPs and the Euros. I should be possible. Also, if the leagues are brought closer together you can have a proper cup competition for those that want it.

Perhaps not as many if the leagues amalgamate & we stop pandering to the few " superstars " that the Elite revolves around . Sir Jasper
Obviously all depends on points limit etc but for under 40 points you can currently get KK, Bomber, Garrity, Kylmakorpi, Bates, Woryna and Sarj

CookieIpswich
Squad systems will not work as there are not enough riders to go around for 7 rider teams so forget squads.... There needs to be 2 leagues of 10 teams - North and South - keep it mainly local so hopefully more bodies get through the turnstiles then have a big play-off scrap at the end of the season of North/South as well as a regional cup competition and a British Cup that combines all 20 teams. Scrap the GP riders and those who do not want many meetings in the UK. Restrict engine tuning so that its cheaper and that all riders will be able to run a machine with the same power - let the rider skill do the talking.... 6-rider teams if you split it between North & South - its simple.... you can only get a guest rider from the opposite league so you won't see a Berwick rider guesting for Glasgow for example, and limit it, a rider can only guest for one other club 3 times per year that way clubs are not forever guesting the same rider. take a look at my reply in the general boards
Gemini
All that is much too sensible so it will never happen.
Woz01
Right only one meeting to go so you would you keep for next season? Ideally KK, Harris, King, Garrity and Bates. Don't think KK will be back as it seems he's Poole bound. Will need a new number 1 and someone who can challenge King in that 3rd heatleader role (Kylmakorpi?). Much depends on rules for the bottom end but if it's one draft rider we have to keep Bates, he improved as the season went on.
Game On
Get rid of Sargent and the team manager would be a good start
poolebolton
I agree I can see KK riding for us and Holder might race for BV. 1.Zagar=7.55 2.Garrity=6.05 3.King=6.87 4.Nicholls=6.25 5.Harris=6.77 6.Bates=4.00 (all EDR riders are going to get 4 or there about) 7.Danny Ayers=3.00 Total=40.49 Overall, quite well balanced team with potential in the top 5. Another team could be. 1. Emil Sayfutdinov=8.00 2. Troy Batch= 4.80 3.Harris=6.77 4.David Bellego=5.00 5.Zagar=7.55 6.Bates=4 7.K.Howarth=4 40.12 total would be an interesting team. Batch would be the trump card and well David Bellego is good in the PL. Edited September 13, 2016 by poolebolton
