The footage is excellent and it really is a trip down memory lane and being 39 I only remember really from 84/85 season but seeing the history of it was something I really enjoyed and wasn't aware of. We have done 2 dvd's so far and savouring the other for over Christmas. Be a lot of work but maybe one day Pete from clean cut sports can do a best of speedway dvd from his time filming at Coventry, must be some great heats and thrills and spills.

I can recommend the 'Memories of Coventry Speedway' DVD if anyone is thinking of getting it. Great value at £16 for 3 DVD's. I have sort of watched part one, with difficulty, and will be watching two and three when Lucy isn't around. :D What a strange dog she is as she always goes to sleep at meetings yet on TV suddenly finds it really interesting and blocks my view.

Must have been intimidating for the riders having a gigantic dog on the first bend terracing

Great to see the dog lapping it up as well as all the huge crowd.

how things have changed,I remember countless British finals and visits to Brandon watching the lions( getting beaten every time mind you ) the place was packed and had to park miles away and walk in.

fingers crossed for a return to those heady days for a more certain future for the bees.As a lions fan I'm optimistic about this season and will also be going along to watch bees in the nationals at BP.

good luck and a better 2018

As a lifelong Wimbledon fan, I have to endure driving past the derelict plough lane stadium on my way to work every morning. The reality will kick in when they start pulling the old place down. All the time Brandon is still standing you have a chance, but cash is always king in these situations.

Re statement from Gambo above..

Even, as a Wolves supporter I wanted to win the lottery and build a speedway track next to the home of the chairman of Barrets that stuffed Cradley.. Looks like Monaco needs a speedway track also!

My father used a quote that made me think....

Who is the biggest thief...

He who steals the goose from the common,

or, he who steals the common from the goose?

Thankfully the honey from the Bee always stays alive - get the track back.

Keep fighting.

There has been a fire at Brandon apparently . The old turnstile block has been damaged. Fortunately a neighbour called the fire brigade and  saved further damage.

With the Gypsies being present on site the photos make a very sad sight.

Report & photos from Jeff Davies

Fire at Brandon has destroyed a turnstile block but would have been much worse but for the vigilance of a local resident.

Needs a few hundred Coventry fans to go along and do likewise to the Caravans, thought the kids were supposed to be at school, ohhhh i forgot there is one law for them, and another for the rest of us.

Brandon estates would be only to glad to see the place burn down, same thing happened at Cradley, i dont recall anyone being prosecuted for it..

There has been 2 fires, one last night and one the night before. The first one was to the turnstiles but not sure if any damage was done with the second fire. Residents in particular must be extremely concerned, the amount of asbestos in the main stand could cause a health risk in event of a fire.

The gypsies have now departed Brandon after the intervention of the Rugby Council  leader..  Lets hope more pressure is put on Brandon Estates to ensure proper security oh the site.

They also left a puppy locked in a cupboard.
