Coventry 2017

CVS will get an even bigger money spinning home meeting against the bees now on the back of the bees closure and the away fixture is of no financial concern to him anyway.

He is a main part of the BSPA board who decided to stop the bees this season, its a simple fact.

Need to get them blinkers off. Mick Horton is a bigger villain than CVS.

What planet are you on?? I actually think it's a big gamble by CVS, yes there might be loads of Cov fans there but how many Wolves will attend for a challenge? and all the bills are his

Facts aren't your strong point clearly.

Look closer to home before looking at others first.

You are deluded.

So you dont think he will get a big crowd or that he wasn't one of the people pulling the plug on the bees, maybe your deluded.

The simple fact that is we are not running is because Brandon is unavailable for us to use. If you want to blame someone look at the people who won't let us use it instead of people involved in speedway.

Cradley don't have a track but they are still running a league team.

Fully agree about Horton but CVS has been at the head table for decades and look at the mess of the sport.

Good PR and it wont be a gamble at all.

If Belle vue had no been able to compete this season would the BSPA of pulled the plug on the bees.

Rocketman - if there is a good crowd for a Wolves v Cov challenge match then it will hardly compensate for the lost revenue from two league matches. If matches of this type were financially viable then I would have expected to see several matches at Swindon involving Reading and Oxford teams - it hasn't happened. Even a Wolves-Cradley fixtures only took place twice in the five years after their demise.

So your thesis that CVS had Cov closed down for financial gain is bonkers.

Secondly - the decision to close Coventry was not made by CVS - his is just one vote in five.

Thirdly it is quite clear why Coventry lost their league place - a three-way squabble between Brandon Estates, Sandhu and Horton. Once it became clear that there was no agreement (and little prospect of one) for a return to Brandon then the Bees would be left running at Leicester (or possibly other venues for the whole season). This would in all likelihood have resulted in Horton incurring large losses which he would have had difficulty in covering. The BSPA acted to prevent the possibility of a scenario where Coventry went bust mid-season owing a six figure sum. Their decision was rational, unlike your paranoid conspiracy theories.

which part is not a fact

You want facts ??

Fact 1. Sandhu bought the stadium.

Fact 2. Sandhu planned to sell the land

Fact 3. Sandhu sold to Brandon Estates for a paltry few million.

Fact 4. Brandon Estates don't won't speedway.

Fact 5. Horton and Sandhu get into ego bumping in the winter resulting in the stadium strip and refusal to sign a new lease.

Fact 6. Sandhu says he will pay to put things right to get the stadium ready for use at a rumoured 3/4 million.

Fact 7. Brandon Estates refuse anyone to enter the stadium.

Fact 8. Horton announces a side and an intent to race at Leicester before returning back to Brandon.

Fact 9. Sandhu said he would help the club find new Land to rebuild the club at a different location (didn't you already have land and a stadium Sandhu??)

Fact 10. Money promised for sponsorship never happened.

Feel free to correct me if any of those FACTS are wrong.

The only other FACTS are is that the BSPA shouldn't have given Coventry a chance to race in 2017 (which has been proven 100% correct) and that they were given false promises that the club failed to deliver on.

Anything else isn't based on fact just assumption.

Hope that helps.

Poole Pirates will ride against a Coventry team in 2017 despite the withdrawal of the famous Midland's club from the newly branded SGB Premiership.

After a winter of much anguish for the Coventry Bees, who had hoped to temporary race at Leicester whilst rectification work would have been undergone at their regular home in Brandon the news last month that they would have to put their licence on ice came as a major blow to speedway fans up and down the country, but Poole will host a challenge meeting against Coventry on Wednesday 19th April.

Explaining the arrangement Poole chief Matt Ford said, "Over the last 10 years or so Coventry have been one of our biggest rivals and there is no doubt that they are one of British Speedway's legendary clubs. There is no way I want to see such a big club be totally lost to our sport and, along with a number of other Premiership clubs, we will be doing our best to keep the name of this speedway giant alive.

"We are honouring the original date in our fixture list of Coventry coming to us on 19th April and with just one change they will field the team they had initially declared when intending to race on in the Premiership. That change will see Chris Harris represent the Bees in place of Kenneth Bjerre and as "Bomber" has been a Bees regular in recent times then his inclusion seems most appropriate."
