Coventry 2017

Recommended Posts

Thanks 👍🏻 The time seemed to go very slow waiting for the announcement to come. It still doesn't secure us long term but at least we have some hope. Credit to all those who made this possible.

Rugby Council leader Michael Stokes says it was an awful lot of work to finalise the deal and praised the efforts of Mick Horton throughout.

He added the passion of Coventry Bees fans was a massive influence on his commitment to securing a deal. More online soon. 🐝

How nice to find a Council Leader and Council who are prepared to get off their backsides and actively protect such a key leisure facility.

Rugby 1 Dudley 0.

Massive congratulations to all concerned.

Now get on with finding an alternative because the Developers will use this as a demonstration of their good will in trying to rehouse the Bees. you have to make best use of the time you have been given.

Maybe one of the conditions is for the Bees to get a strong team for 2017 - as per Horton's statement today!! ;-)

Not much chance of that. They would need 6 new riders to join KK. You think Horton will fork out for that?

Dare I say it but if the rules alllow ....

Stick with KK, Harris, King, Garrity, Bates and Woryna - add another heat leader and we will be ok ...

Why persevere with Woryna and then ditch hime when he comes good next year ?

Bates and Woryna at reserve, King and Garrity at second string with KK, Harris and ???? as Heat Leaders ....

Cheers

Strangely, as bad as this years team has been, I would have most of the riders back next year, the team has just been put together wrong with riders in the wrong positions.

Realistically if we had swapped Woryna for a rider who can score 7 or 8 points a meeting at second string and interchange with King as a heat leader we would have done well this year.

I think Sarjeant has reached his peak, I'd have him back as a tier 2 reserve but nothing more.

I can also see the argument for keeping Woryna, he is an improving rider and was doing much better before being involved in the fatal crash in Poland which may have something to do with his loss of form. He will be on a low average so maybe if we are making major changes to the team he would be worth retaining depending on how the rest of the team is built.

Yes agree. Would only keep King as a second string, but I do think we need a class rider that can gate. Such a shame we never signed Fricke when we should have.

Would also like us to freshen up the management. Think it's time to replace Havvy and Rogers. Would love someone like Nicholls who knows the young riders out in different leagues, and would have a massive positive say with team building.

A one year lease with possibility of another two subject to conditions.

I would imagine the conditions are that we are actively searching for a new stadium in that time.

Fine get it signed . and I will personally guarantee . we will match minute for minute the effort expended by Sandhu after he promised to find us a new home . #plentyoftimeonmyhandsbecausei'mdoingzilch.com
