he ain't a no1 but he hasn't got a no1s average , baby bjerre would be my 1st name on team sheet next season with a average under7

Riders who suffer serious injuries such as a broken thigh in Bjerre's case often have a poor year the season they return but pick up the season after.

A good example is Josh Grajczonek who similarly broke his thigh in 2011 with Glasgow and was pretty average in 2012 when he returned. Despite wanting to move track for the 2012 season there were no takers.

Bjerre could prove to be in demand in 2017, or not depending on if Havelock holds his registration. Definitely not a No1 though even at the height of his game.

Danny Ayres gets the crowd going at Glasgow when he showboats, we all love him up here, he also gets a lot of stick from those fans in the east and also from others after his tv debut... personally I think we need more people like him, to get the fans going, how many riders just return to the pits after a win.

I see poor old perrys come in for a bit of stick in various places , coming back from bad injuries and going straight into the main team (due to the other riders pea poor performances ) if he'd gone straight back into reserve his confidence wouldn't be shot ,touch wood he'll be back at reserve next month , people need to remember we are so high up because of him

Perry was brilliant until is unfortunate injury and having to return into the top 5 was just not what he needed .Agreed he needs to get back down to reserve to get his confidence back but the problem with this is, has Grondal done enough for. his average to be above Perry's ,It also depends on S.Lambert's possible return date .As it stands at the moment Morris and Holub would have to be the reserves Panthers owe a lot to Perry's early season form he was the difference in some matches that gave them the confidence to go on and win when other middle order riders were just not cutting it. I feel sure with time he will come good

For a rider with a just under 7 average I'd rather stick with Jakobsen . Your correct he's not a NO1,and Panthers management gambled on him being able to. and they got it wrong

When I first saw NBJ at Rye I thought he'd be hitting and maintaining an 8 point average. When I read he'd signed for Peterborough I was certain he would. Not progressed as I expected.

Can't believe people are talking up signing up Bjerre after has crap performance last night...only in speedway this would happen!

he rode at no1 he has a average less than 7 rode on a track he's not very good at , put him against oystercard round showground and he'll beat him 80 times out 100 and has a far less average , he may be a rider who chucks his rattle out his pram ,but I dare bet riders in the same team would rather ride with bjerre than oystercard

it was quite funny seeing the scotsman last night torn between wanting to let ayres know how cack he was and cheering him for giving the pussycats a pumping!! lol

I hate dilemmas like that!!

Given the increasing fame, or is it notoriety?, of the back straight BSF Massif at Fox Holes, we are happy for anyone else to come and join us if they are up for making a bit of noise/atmosphere.

Even better if they want to bring musical noise, but the whistles yesterday were a welcome addition, (but remember no air horns allowed), though I wasn't convinced about Macca's disguise and African drum especially when he played the rain dance music on it and it then started to rain!!

Ostergaard has an 8 point average, Bjerre is under 7 for a very good reason , that how well they are riding to form neither of them warrant being a NO1, but i'd take Ostergaard everytime over Bjerre

As a Glasgow supporter I am taking a keen interest in any appearance of Danny Ayres, either for Kent or as a guest.

Clearly we've taken a great shine to Mr Ayres, with his infectious enthusiasm and showboating.

However I am surprised, pleasantly but still surprised all the same, to hear you describe his style as smooth.

To be critically objective his style is anything but smooth around Ashfield.

I've posted agreements on other threads that (paradoxically) he'd go faster if he slowed down!?!

By this, of course, I am meaning that if he focused on his style / smoothness and choosing / testing racing lines he'd make quicker progress around the track.

Ashfield has much tighter turns than Kent.

I've never been to Ipswich. Is Foxhole a technical track?

Although we love to have him at Ashfield I wonder if he's not yet good enough to ride a smallish track consistently well.

I suppose it's a double edged sword.

Do you want a novice rider to only ride well around the likes of EOESG or Owlerton and have no chance at the likes of Armadale.

Perhaps last night was a one off I don't know, but maybe he got his set up right. Whatever it was it certainly got the crowd going. Not just during the meeting but also in practice afterwards he looked quick. Presumably he is better on slightly bigger and less technical tracks.

Haha, always pleased to help to move along the atmosphere and the entertainment levels - not sure about my ability to add anything on the musical front though.

I was on drugs the bodhran and samba whistle last night and it appears that my Mexican Rasterfarian Pirate disguise worked as I even exchanged some pleasantaries with Chris after then mkeeting last night. The MRP outfit certainly fooled my nemesis on here who appeasr to be conspicuous by his absence. Maybe that word he used to describe me was a step too far and has led to a ban. Maybe his mate, MtM can let us know as this Forum has been very pleasant to be part of this past week.

Really brilliant atmosphere in the pits afterwards and good to see that we fans, small time sponsors or not, could simply walk in unencumbered - or maybe it was an open door for the massif. Great to see CL with a smile on his face and responding to the "Give Us a Wave" chant at last. We don't ask for much Chris and it really helps the fans have an inclusive feeling, something that so many businesses and sports clubs get so badly wrong.

Great touch by The Presenter after the meeting. An evening that one young fellow will not forget for a long time, even though he was "flagging" (sorry) toward the end. And great to hear (hopefully anyway) that an investment in two replacement speakers is to be made this week and that they will be sited at least 3 metres higher up than currently which should make the PA audible to the Massif and those that want to enjoy the party. Thursday at 7:30, bring a cow bell, whistle, drum, megaphone or just act flirty.... ? :-)

Great to say hello to Foz too after all these years of corresponding by text or e-mail.

"macca56" aka "Neil in Chantry" now aka "J. Depp".

I have been a fan of Mike Bacon, but he has got his reports totally skewed recently and, following the "Leigh Lanham" being pipped in Heat 3 mess up the other week, this week's article goes nowhere near to conveyingv the enjoyment level felt on the terraces.

I will be going to Eastbourne tomorrow to support Danny Ayres (and James Shanes) if anyone fancies a trip to the south coast rather than boring your backside off at the Fours.

His last performance at the EOES was sublime and we're struggling to win on our own patch, let alone away.

I see Baldyman has been taken to task by Young Mr. Louis in his programme notes by describing the track as "slick as usual" during the match against Berwick!!

Mr. Louis discusses the description of "slick".

In his opinion that would mean that the racing was slow whereas Mr. D. King put in the fastest time of the season at 0.2 outside the time set by the Fabulous Cookie Monster last year.

(Just to jog your memories, it was on 16th July and came in Cookie's second race whilst riding at number 5, so actually in heat 6 - beating said Mr. D. King from behind - a feat he repeated in heat 13 but that took a lap and a half - and followed up by yet another win against Mr. D. King in heat 15) whilst on his way to a stroll in the park 15 point maximum )

Mr. Louis also questioned the phrase "as usual" since he had heard the team describe the track as a little too slick a couple of times, but Ippo have taken that on board.

He says that was mainly down to the change in dirt supplier and it has been difficult to get as much grip in the surface without making the track very difficult to ride.

Mr. Louis suggests that perhaps in future an updater should be given the opportunity to talk to any of the riders to get their opinion on track conditions so that an accurate and informed description can be used in future.

And he would be happy with that.

So it sounds like a great opportunity for anyone doing the updates to get down and dirty with a rider of their choice.

All sounds like a good idea.

For what it's worth, I didn't think the track looked slick against the Banditos or the Pathetic Panthers!!

Maybe if the updater was let in free then he/she would be able to find the time and have access to do such a thing...

But as it is, updating between heats, watching next heat (and repeat) is more than enough for a paying customer!

Oh and finding the time to eat sweets and ring bells and blow whistles!

And don't forget I gave that opinion before the meeting was started, so I was only going my how it looked, not raced on. It was clear that it was not slick once the racing had started as you could tell from the fast times.

I incurred the wrath of Len Silver through my updates a couple of years ago. He even felt the need to go to the local rag to voice his displeasure, even mentioning me by name. Once, on the way back from an away meeting at Sheffield where we had been well and truly turned over, we bumped into each other at Woodall Services. "Here's the spy in the camp" he remarked as I walked past. I can't remember another time he's acknowledged me in over 30 years as a Rye fan.

Safe to say I wasn't on his xmas card list!
