Poole Pirates Vs Coventry Bees 20/7/16 Elite B

Recommended Posts

Poole were just so much better than Coventry, KK accepted. He was a single man on a mission and rode brilliantly. Heat one Holder had him but he dropped back to defend and team ride with Barker who would have most certainly have been picked off by Ellis but for some blocking by KK.

Good crowd, decent meeting considering the gulf in quality between the two sides. Some cracking races. Hans and Harris battling, until Harris knocked Hans off, and the race of the night with Ellis seeing off Harris and King.

For Poole.

Holder showing good form. He should have had KK in heat 13 but went too wide off bend two allowing KK through. In heat 15bhe did exactly the same thing again!

Ellis was excellent. Missed the start in heat one but was unstoppable after that beating Harris and King on the way. Team GB top 4?

Buck was steady. Waived KK through in one ride.

Kurtz was solid.

Hans an improvement on Friday.

Bjarne was excellent.

Newman battled after a few weeks off.

For Coventry.

KK showing he is one of the best riders in the EL.

Barker gated in front if Ellis in heat one and had KK to thank for his only points of the night.

King did poorly. TeamGB? God help us.

Bates was out of his depth.

Harris got two wins but Ellis had him. TeamGB? God help us.

Roynon managed two pints when Newman missed the gate and took three laps to pass Woryna giving him the chance to just hold on.

Woryna was fast but just couldn't suss the right lines, getting picked off left right and centre.

Looking at King and Harris tonight, the only use they will be at Belle Vue next Saturday is selling burgers.

Three points and now into another two week break before Leicester come to town.

How come we didn't get one of these rider by rider guides Friday 😉

Only get them for the meetings you win

after last weeks justifiable criticism of track prep, top, top marks to neil and his helpers for producing a super racetrack tonite.

Yes track far far better than last week. No billowing dust, track was perfect. Just goes to show you put in thebtime and effort you get the rewards. Well done to the track staff to produce an excellent race strip in such trying conditions.

Totally impressed with Adam Roynon if he can manage two pints whilst riding a speedway bike. Top man

You were at home in October 2010 Poole v Coventry match but still waiting for that rider by rider report so I think she's right Steve only does them when Pirates win.

You really don't get it do you? You ask him a question, he replies and you think he's on the wrong thread.

To answer your question because I understand and don't ignore them or give a stupid answer ~ none, zero, zilch. Am I bothered? Not at all, but I don't think it does Speedway any good at all if Poole win for the 4th time in a row so I'll be hoping it's another team this season.

Good meeting to watch and as others have said credit where its due - the track was in teriffic condition.

Not sure why Bees fans give Woryna so much stick - he scored in 4 out of his 5 races - so much better than half his teammates!!

Ellis must surely have the edge over Bates as Team GB reserve - more so if Bates is carrying an injury?!

NB. Noticed the Sports hierarcy from BBC South/Radio Solent were in attendance last night so maybe some 'live' radio broadcasts on the August horizon???

Well of course your going to say that, but anybody who says they are in it just for the taking part is a liar and i stick by that. We, are in it to win it..

Really good to see Barry Briggs and Brian Crutcher in attendance last night.. :t:

Brilliant performance from British number 1 Danny King but Harris will be the one who gets slated...

I think you'll find that's Tai Woffinden. Forget the BF result.

Would you pick Harris or King for World Cup team?

Neither, I'd pick Nicholl's.

Woryna is at reserve and the only Poole rider he beat was Newman, once. Utter garbage.

Nicholls whose last 2 scores at Belle Vue is 3+1 both times? I don't think he's even close to a call up.
