1977 National League Table

The 1978 yearbook table reports: Mildenhall race points for 1383 and against 1421. It also reports Scunthorpe 1292 - 1509.

 

The meeting results I have concur with those figures.

 

However the BSPA archive website returns Mildenhall 1382 - 1422 and Scunthorpe 1293 - 1508.

 

The Scunthorpe v Mildenhall match on 29/08/77 finished 45-33 on track, but after a protest this was amended to 44-34. This fact is reported in the yearbook.

 

Can anyone provide me with race point totals from another source (Speedway Star, Mail, programmes, etc) ?

The total points listed in the speedway star are

Mildenhall F 1382 A 1422 (3 Dec 77)

Scunthorpe F 1344 A 1457 (14 Jan 78)

Thanks. I now have that 14/01/78 Speedway Star to hand and it returns 1293-1508 for Scunthorpe?

 

That amended scoreline is clearly the issue here, so any further light that can be shed on that would be appreciated. The Scunthorpe programme I have from 03/10/77 still carries the result as 45-33.

In heat 3 Baugh finished 3rd but was later found to have a faulty silencer Bates was then awarded 3rd place

He finished the meeting on 2pts and Baugh 3pts

Thanks. That's the info I have from both the yearbook and the season file on Speedway Researcher. Is that where your info comes from, and if not can you tell me your source?
