Lukas Posted July 16, 2016 Report Share Posted July 16, 2016 (edited) This was a strange one because the track had loads of dirt on like we've been asking for but the racing wasn't that great..it was important we won though. Busk looked great in his first 2 races but then stopped chasing the dirt and tailed off?.Ulrich looked superb again and has started to hit abit of form, Steady did race of the night in 15, Perry was poor until his last race where he looked his old self again, Grondal seemed to like the dirt and did well, Stokes managed a heat win in the reserves race but was way off pace after that and rider of the night was Ashley Morris who has impressed me so far...for them TJ, pijper and weathers did well but Doolan let them down...and good job he did as we may have been in trouble!...Keep the track like that guys and the home wins will follow...though looking at the fixtures we havnt got that many left. The point is a lot of fans live in the past, and often want something that the riders do not want. If you have a team of riders who do best on a slick track then that is what good management should dictate.. So it's rider power and you disagree with Rathbone when he says "This is a professional sport and those taking part in it should have the team of people around them who are able to react to the conditions they encounter and have the ability to make the adjustments necessary". If you give a team of riders who like a slick track a nice heavy deep track that the fans want and the team keeps losing, the fans still walkA slick at smaller venues you can get away with as he riders keep fairly close,but a slick track at the larger tracks like Berwick leads to pretty boring meetings IMO as the riders are not going to thrash their engines for nothing and the racing gets pretty spaced out.Riders at Berwick get beat by the length of the strait in one heat then win by the length of the strait in their next heat!!!! Not good viewing. Then explain the FIM under 21s, slickest I had ever seen at Berwick, but it produced some of the most exciting riding I had seen in a decade or more. That old chestnut. If a club assembles a team, then provide a track that suits what you have assembled. You may on a rare occasion have a rider that wants to ride for a particular team, but in the vast majority of cases the club select their riders from those that are available.
