Phil,

Planning a holiday to Spain and Portugal in September 2017 and we are thinking about doing the Stockholm GP before returning home to Oz. Would you have any advance info on the likely date perhaps September 23 or 30?

Regards

Glenn Russell

Sydney

Australia

Previous years it (Friends arena gp) has been held on September 24, 26, 27, 21

I think Stockholm is likely to be on the 23rd given it's past dates and that it likely would be 2 week after Teterow and 2 weeks before Torun.

Btw, 10 Sep 2017 is a Sunday, do you predict a rain off? ;)

Full list to be published after Melbourne, together with full list of the 15 seeded riders, fully depends upon ratification at the FIM Conference in November though.

Every year they hang about announcing the calendar...anybody would think it was more important than the Brexit negotiations.

ONE thing that I do know is holding up the complete calendar is a date for Melbourne. BSI have been waiting for Dorna to confirm their date for the Moto GP at Phillips Island, which they and the Etihad are keen to avoid which was not the case this year. It also has to be ratified by the FIM.

Would have thought having over 40,000 bike fans stopping in the Melbourne area would be an advantage to the GP in terms of sales. Provisional date for next year at Phillip Island is 22nd October.

It seems the Ethiad has just been bought by the AFL, so maybe that's also a consideration?
