Gemini
Your stronger tonight with your guests and we are weaker, still think we will win but could be close and i am hopeful of a great meeting. Really? Belligo a big fat zero. Barker 5 and Adam 4....if you're calling them guests. Bellago having a 4th ride ! - Havvy been on the 'pop' ? Adam was already in the race when he had his 4th ride. The other possibility was heat 9 but that was against Pedersen and Kurtz who scored a 5-1 so I doubt if replacing him with Adam would have made any difference. What's the deal about centre green exclusions then? 2 weeks ago Jack Smith was excluded in heat 2 for Birmingham for the same thing and wasn't allowed off 15m, yet Bjarne was?! Farce. New rule brought in especially for Poole at lunch time today so Bjarne didn't get excluded. Bit of a farce getting in if you have a pushchair, both gates sending you to the other one. . . .anyway result made up for all the messing about. That's got to be a bit easier than trying to get a dog to limbo underneath the turnstile.
Steve Shovlar
Ok now just home. Not a good meeting racing wise. A few passes in some heats but mostly the heat was decided by the second bend. Meeting was probably thrilling for Coventry fans due to the closeness of the scores and result rather than the racing itself. Poole really should have walked this. No Newman was big for us but even more important was the abject performance by Andersen who was totally crap. A mediocre performance would have been enough. To make the beginners mistake of not racing to the line was terrible. Strange call by Middlo to place Bjarne in heat 15. Never, ever going to score meaning all the weight was on Holders shoulders. Gate one was total graveyard gate and the race was over by the first bend. Personally I would have given the nod to Buck as he was more on the pace. Bjarne does his job but is slow nowdays. In the scheme of things the defeat means little. We will still be in the playoffs and back to full strength next week. Coventry can enjoy their win tonight but still wont be top four. No team this season stands out. Belle Vue, the favourites, only won by 6 tonight, while leaders Wolves were thrashed at Lakeside. Still fancy us to click at the right time and do it when it matters. Game On
You heard the 5 year extension rumour too then? There were rumours we will be defiantly running next year. Not sure you should be commenting on heat 15 when you ran out with your tale between your legs as soon as the tapes went up. I was going to ask if he was even there judging by his account of the meeting but that confirms he was. Not sure how he missed the passing. Hans went from 2nd to last in one 😂, Pedersen made a pass off 15m (and he never passes) and even heat 15 was gated by Poole but the bees took them on the first bend. Bellego was passed in every race. I think it's his sour grapes at losing for a 2nd time away to us. He was missing one rider. We were missing Garrity, Sarjeant and Woryna who would have scored more than 0. A great win for the bees who's top 5 were much better than Pooles last night.

Belle Vue may be favourites in some peoples eyes, but not in their fans eyes, yes we should make the P/Offs but I don't think we will now reach the final, simply because of 1 reason. We have no home track advantage. The NSS is such a fair fast track that any advantage we should have is lost, as was shown last night. To say we are favourites is an insult to the other 3 teams, whoever they turn out to be.
Bee 26
Our heatleasders are a match for anyone's, if only Horton would have made a change for the pole we would have been pushing a top 4 spot. KK was pure class last night. Andersen rode like he did for us last year, so glad he's not here this year. Cheats never prosper.

Our top riders are some of the strongest in the league. Garrity is good in the main team. If they would have only replaced Woryna even with Mads, then that would have pushed Bates back to reserve and gave us strength. Woryna & Sarjeant weaken us a lot at reserve. We won't win a lot of meeting with reserves who struggle to score more than 4 between them esp away. We are just one rider away from being a top 4 team which is so frustrating Edited July 16, 2016 by mdmc82

Hahaha run out with my tail between my legs! Watched two laps and decided it was over. With a three hour journey and one way out of Brandon we decided it was a very sensible move. I said in my first post well done to Coventry but it seems managing to scrape a win against a weaker mis firing Poole has sent some Coventry fans into super gloat mode. Lets see what Wednesday brings. Think there may be more than four points in it. 😏 Belle Vue may be favourites in some peoples eyes, but not in their fans eyes, yes we should make the P/Offs but I don't think we will now reach the final, simply because of 1 reason. Steve Worral is dialled in and scoring around there for fun. Surely he is showing home track advantage?

He seems to have found a set up around there that works, he looks quick & if picked for the SWC I don't think he'd let anyone down. I'm not convinced there is much home advantage, yet. What has to be factored in that away riders are really enjoying racing on a track that is big, fast ,fair & there to be attacked - unlike our previous home, where some opposition riders were beaten driving into the car park pre-match. Back to thread, what was wrong with Hans Andersen last night? Sounds like he cost Poole last night. Edited July 16, 2016 by mikec

Pretty fair summing up for a Steve Shovlar post I reckon. Apart from the obvious delight at the final score line and heat 15 I didn't think the racing was that good and I've certainly got used to seeing a lot better at Coventry. Still, we won so I'll take that thank you. Just like Rory Schlein did at Kings Lynn on Thursday. Yes, that's weird because according to our announcer the rule was only brought in at lunch time that day, which would have been Friday, yet it was used on Thursday as well. Steve Shovlar
Back to thread, what was wrong with Hans Andersen last night? Sounds like he cost Poole last night. He certainly cost us the win and four probable points. He was sitting in third on the last lap with King behind him. He looked around down the back straight and saw King was there so absolutely no excuse to throttle off and coast to the line, allowing King to grab a point. He then missed the gate and had no chance of passing, along with Holder, before in his next sliding off on the second bend. That was it from him. Unprofessional in his first, no chance after missing the gate then a fall (unhurt) Shame you only got to see a few passes last night, mind you must be used to that watching Poole at home! You need to come and watch a meeting at Poole if you think there's no passing. Wednesday saw our worst meeting for passing this year and there was more than last night. End of the day Coventry won and their fans are happy to gloat because they beat the sport's giant. Fair play to Coventry they deserved it. mdmc82
Wow I didn't realise what a poor loser Steve Shovlar was. Talk about sour grapes. Yes Hans was poor for you but he only had 3 rides due to your super reserve who could replace anybody and did. Coventry were practically a 5 man team as non existent at reserve and still won. Your comments about Bates are disrespectful and love how you have to compare a draft rider to a ride you promised us big things from in the main team. Yes Kurtz beat Bates when out front in a race but Holder & Hans had no answer when Bates was out front either. Does that make him better than them 😂 Come on, you lost fair and square against a weakened need side with 3 riders missing. As for the Giants comment, I don't see you as the best team in the league at present. Maybe once you have had time to recover from last night, you can read back through your posts and see how childish & sour you sound. I am pi55ed with one of our riders for failing to to produce anywhere near what he should have done last night. I have said on three ocassions well done to Coventry. That's now 4 times.
