Poole Pirates Vs Lakeside Hammers 13/7/16 Elite Lge B

Recommended Posts

I seem to remember them changing it a year ago? I'm sure I read somewhere that you had to protest before a meeting started.

Don't really know if it has been changed but if the rules are we were not entitled to a facility then there is no issue. It didn't change the result and even if it had i don't see what leg we had to stand on.

I read in a newspaper that Poole are investigating claims that a member of Lewis Kerr's pit crew assaulted Bjarne Pedersen. Any truth in this?

Really which newspaper?

All I can find is this but nothing else on a google search

Poole probe rider 'assault'. Daily Mirror - 2016-07-16 - CITYDESK -. CHAMPIONS Poole areinvestigating claims that a Lakeside mechanic assaulted their Danish star Bjarne Pedersen on Wednesday. The Pirates will study CCTV footage to see if the incident involving one of Lewis Kerr's pit crew is on film. Boss Neil ...

This happened as Bjarne was going back to the pits after the Kerr crash (with which he was not involved). One of Kerr's mechanics had a go at Bjarne, mistakingly thinking it was Paul Starke, I believe!!

Reportedly Jon Cook also shouted some obscenities but things were calmed down when Tatum stepped in, got the actual facts, told the mechanic that his behaviour was unacceptable, and also apologised I gather.

Do tell...

Matt Ford and I quote " often promoters and members of the MC phone and ask me what the rules are. I know what the rules are and I know I haven`t broken one "

It was only the other year for using an illegal guest at Peterborough that he said that he wasn`t at the conference and didn`t know the rule had changed !!!!!

In the program last night he said he had broken no rule and would have taken it further and won, but the team did a job on Lakeside anyway so there was no point.

Bless..

He couldn't have taken it 'further' as Wright didn't ride in the meeting. Ridiculous statement. If he truly believed he was right, Wright would have ridden and his pts deducted afterwards if he was wrong. Ford knew he was wrong and his attempts at face saving are a tad pathetic.. but then fans like Starman will lap it up.

Whatever the wrights or wrongs we were told it was not a reckonised meeting so we had no facillity. and it was left at that, but we still won so everybody was happy.

Where exactly would he have taken it ? The rules only allow for an appeal against penalties enforced. You can't appeal against a penalty that wasn't enforced. It's like trying to appeal a parking fine you never had.

Ford does come out with some drivel.

Isn't it a bit strange that neither the SCB secretary, the SCB referee nor the duty member of the BSPA MC could quote the rule that Poole had supposedly broken.

The article explains that Poole knew they had no facility so initially tried to book Jake Allen as cover for Ellis (PL 6 pointer). This was refused as it was claimed the replacement had to be a BRIT if it was replacing an EDR - but the rule states that should only apply if a facility HAD been granted. Hence Wright being booked as a qualifying Brit EDR replacement.

Poole were not advised about Wright until 2.41 pm on the day - too late to get Jake Allen down - who should have been able to guest in the first place as there was nothing in the rules that contradicted that - as agreed by 3 officials, none of whom could show the rule that didn't allow it!!
