Poole Pirates Vs Lakeside Hammers 13/7/16 Elite Lge B

Recommended Posts

Next Wednesday See's the return of Speedway to Wimborne Road after 6 weeks of no meetings.

Completely crazy situation and still outstanding fixtures to be arranged.

Lakeside Hammers are the visitors and will be looking for revenge after the extraordinary result from what was a makeshift Pirates team winning at the Arena Essex raceway last week.

The Pirates have matches in hand on their rivals but need to pick up wins home and away to make the top 4.

The Hammers have riders who go well at Poole especially Richard Lawson,Lewis-Bridger,Andreas-Jonsson,Kim-Nilsson and Lewis-Kerr.

No easy contest but a must win for the Pirates.

Thoughts?

Lakeside are one of the better teams at gating at Poole. Is a potential banana skin but we should have enough overall to get the win.

They also need to spot where the holes and bumps are, so they can miss them

Agreed.

All the promoters see is a stronger team. If a foreign rider of Pedersen's calibre can't stay out of reserve he shouldn't be foisted on the fans in the Elite League. A 37- year old has been, well past his sell by date, in a reserve slot intended for the development of young British riders is not what the fans pay to see. It makes a total mockery of the league as a serious competition. The fans are being taken for fools and an increasing number are not standing for it, as falling attendances show.

Yes, needs to be sorted in the winter but whether there will be enough fans left by next year to sustain a realistic level of top league racing remains to be seen.

After 6 weeks of no racing, I would hope and expect that the track has had some serious work done and there should be no issues with it

There were no issues with the track against Swindon on 1st June - smooth as you like for both teams and no blue groove either/. The track was bladed and got sorted the day after the BV defeat!!

Poole's riders have been generally scoring well in all their other fixtures, so I reckon a 10 point win even though Lakey have been a bit of a bogey team in the past!!

Kennett and Bridger at 2 & 4 could well put Poole's 2nd strings under a bit of pressure - especially if its r/r for Ellis, although Poole can use Buzz, Brady, Bjarne and whoever is guest for Kyle Newman if Poole do get a facility?!?!
