Guest
Lots of riders are paid for the points they score, but special riders are paid for appearance money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I take your explanation to mean that 'certain' riders get an agreed fee to race but do not receive actual points money? Thank you for updating me on this. I was not aware of this situation. steve roberts
Terry Betts used to get a percentage of the gate money when he rode for King's Lynn in a deal struck with Maurice Littlechild (Promoter).
SCB
He was rubbish, I'm not going to defend him despite being a fan. But he was trying, he just wasn't good enough. Mind you, he could have at least had the decent to try for 4 laps in every race. I hate riders not trying all 4 laps, we're not asking a lot, 4 minutes of effort is all! Odds On
There are no riders just purely on appearance money, most are on a guarantee and points money, even promoters are not that stupid! However its not rocket science to watch certain Sky meetings and see both sets of promoters lose money, a heat 15 5-1 could cost a promoter any where between 30-50 paying public! Now I've watched the match on Youtube I disagree with you because he was trying for the 4 laps, apart from his last race when he gave up in disgust just before the end. After the night he'd had I probably would have done too. I was more disappointed with Woryna being stupid because he was on TV and acting like a 4 year old. What a prat. Is that a fact or your opinion?Zagar was reportedly on a set fee last year according to some generally reliable sources?
mickthemuppet
Surely it's a private matter what any rider earns .It's got nothing to do with anybody else. Perhaps the people enquiring would like to put what they earn on here then
