tyretrax
Rain off in the west. Thought there wasn't such a thing. I'll be expecting photos of the track building up to start time and on start time to prove it. First in a long time.

Fair enough, maybe in this case covers wouldn't have help save the meeting, but its something clubs need to look at as with so many rain offs for certain clubs its highly likely they will be unable to get their fixtures in by the cut off gate, without running meetings on off nights or running double headers which in most cases a big money losers. damosuzuki
I'm always thinking is there not something lower cost aletrnative to covers - Particuarly when you see the miles upon miles of grow tunnels in Stirlingshire.... might invent it and become a millionaire. Plenty time to think about it today anyway.
bigeddiechek
Need to follow Berwick's lead.No point having all that investment, but not being able to get any speedway on!
Gazc
Need to follow Berwick's lead. No point having all that investment, but not being able to get any speedway on! Covers are fine before the meeting but it has been chucking it down for the past 45 mins which would be during the meeting so any amount off investment would make no difference if mother nature decides to throw it down whilst the covers are off, then it would make no difference. Fromafar
It's a catch 22 regarding covers,if you can guarantee no rain during the meeting fine but if it is dodgy forecast for the day you can waste your time because they don't ride in wet weather nowadays.

Berwick have saved two meetings now using covers, but on both occasions they have been lucky with no rain during meeting time. Had it rained yesterday as heavy as some forecasts suggested then the weather probably would've won covers or not. Still think covers are worth looking at, for when it rains in the morning but there is an improving forecast, but it seems with todays meeting at Glasgow the weather would've won no matter what. I agree, though the need for speed seems more important than ever now, especially on these slick tracks. If we are to use more dirt then the bikes need to be slowed down somehow as with the bikes now they seem virtually uncontrollable when the hit any dirt. Tapeworm
Well, I suppose that's two matches we can now replay after Nike's return as a reserve. And no home match again next Sunday. Anyone know when he'll be fit enough to ride again ? I was quite impressed by Dan Bewley's pace, for one so young, last Wednesday night but, while grateful to him for agreeing to be our guest, was fearful about his contribution for us against Sheffield this afternoon.
